Main Scenario Progression to Access 4.0 Content

Though it’s still a bit early to talk about this, you’ll be able to access and accept quests for Patch 4.0 even if you have not completed the main scenario for the Patch 3.x series. Similarly, you’ll be able to unlock new jobs regardless of your scenario progression. Due to this, we feel the need to create a system that will allow you to watch a digest of what happened. However, for the 3.0 story, since everyone has seen everything up until now I think it was enjoyable, and while there were some pros and cons for this, I think having the system we did for the 3.x series was a good thing.

Well, thats far and away from saying they will remove all MSQ requirements. In fact all it really says is "We are considering making it so you don't have to complete 3.0", doesn't say anything about how much you will need at all. You can take almost anything you like away from that quote. You may need up until unlocking at least all of the areas in 3.0. there is no mention of excluding the 2.0 requirements.

And if they bait and switch by saying it's an open expansion when it really isn't they will find out what really pisses gamers off. All this to save a crafting system that already has zero impact on end game raiding that they seem to think is the core of the game.

Tbh, it wouldn't be a bait and switch at all, especially with the first part of the first sentence. If you take it as a promise of what will be from that quote, that's on you for seeing what you want it to be. If he said something along the lines of "There will be no MSQ needed to access any content when we release 4.0" thats a very different story. And what will they find out about really "pisses gamers off", everyone will still pay their subscription and continue to complain, just like now.
