Is it possible that the airships we're getting in 1.19 are a transportation option to make things easier for people who are always out of anima and feel the world is too big and boring to be bothered running around?
Is it also possible that we may in the future get airships that are content -- where we can actually ride around in them, pilot them ourselves, experience air battles, etc.?
It doesn't have to be one or the other, does it?

Depends on who you ask.Is it possible that the airships we're getting in 1.19 are a transportation option to make things easier for people who are always out of anima and feel the world is too big and boring to be bothered running around?

If you are asking me - I prefer options > one way.
Why?
Because one way becomes boring quickly and options give me longer before I become bored.
Not to mention the side effect of demanding/enforcing only one way could be harmful to your health in some situations.
Haha.. Well, lemme give you some credit for that, that actually makes more sense than any other justification used so far for insta-airships.![]()
I know but neither of their ranks began with a C to match Chocobo so I had to go with Riker sadly.
And no the correction doesn't offend, I saw the error before I even wrote it but there was simply nothing I could do.
This game does often feature light-hearted and silly comedy moments sometimes, so I figured, "why couldn't this be one of them?"
It's a ridiculous theory, but I can very easily see an Elezen being fired from an airship into the forests of Black Shroud and slamming into a tree, before slowly sliding down it in a typical cartoon way to the groan of "uuurgh, damned Lalafell mechanics!"
