    In my opinion if Savage would be doable with i180 gear, there would be no need for raiders to do Normal Mode more than once, in that case they wouldn't be burned out. If they decided to overgear it to handle it better, OK, but they would do it on their own risks of being burned out.

    Not sure how other people feel about that, but for me it would solve the whole part of being burned out after just getting geared for it. I am currently on A4s and 2 members of our static just said they want to be replaced, because they are burned out already (these guys have been raiding for years, so they can handle some stress I guess). I can understand them, we have been doing NM even 10 times a week (for some turns) to get our gear, that leaves a mark, especially when you step into the same fight later and drill it 4 times a week 3 hours straight..

    Some people are using arguments that savage is here only for challenge. It used to be like that with savage Coil, but for Alex I would say that savage is the main content for every raider that is left in FFXIV (as normal coil used to be before addition of savage) and I guess when raiders were signing for it, they expected something else (that's atleast what I feel and what people in my static feel).. and the same fights in the same arena with the same story for dyable gear and mount just can't keep so many people going for months, it just isn't worth the effort because Coil raiding used to offer much more (fights were new, area was new, lore was new, gear was new from the rest of the game).

    So SE will see the numbers on the end of 3.X cycle and will probably decide to scrap hardcore raiding completely or do some adjustments to save it (because the numbers will be even worse than they used to be for coil), that's up to them.
