Suggestion: Allow Free Transfers TO European Data Center

All of you who against this are double standard with all due respect. If this matter was affecting you, you would rage and shout for equality, but because it is not, you see it "OK" to prevent others from having their rights.

People have choosen their server in the character creator, not on Lodestone.

If you cant read the date I will write it for you, it says:
"Applications will be accepted until July 15, 2013"

As an old player and like many others, that was way before the launch of FFXIV: ARR which was August 27, 2013

Alot of them close during peak times. You may find Odin and Cerebus amongst others are difficult. But they do all (in recent months) open up sometime in the ealry hours of the morning.


Its driving me nuts people assuming an EU player is on NA by choice - it isnt! NA was all that was open at the time because EU was 'full' and I needed to be able to play with other friends who were joining their very first MMO. We all want to move to EU server as NA will get even less forgiving of pings and early logouts.

Which was after Beta 3 (read: Open Beta) so stop being double standard yourself - if you were legacy you had plenty of time (4 month of beta) to get your server right

There are many posts in this thread explaining why people didn't see any reason to just randomly move to another server just because "EU" labels were added to them. It is obvious why the situation and choice is now completely different than it was back in the launch of 2.0. Furthermore, giving this option to players who want to move would not cause any harm to anyone, in fact it could have an opposite effect.

There's no reason to express anger at people who are making a completely reasonable request that doesn't seem to concern you in any way. Of course you could try to argue how giving this option could have some negative effects on the playerbase, if you truly have something to say about it other than trying to insult people who are actually contributing to the discussion.

1. We never chose the wrong server. We joined one of the old Five servers they were all labeled as NA/EU (posted the pic before- but here its again incase you missed it http://i.imgur.com/FqIMl3S.jpg) it was on 2.0 launch that it was made into NA only.

2. Asking for equal treatment is not a double standard.

3. If you don't like reading complaints, you aren't affected by this, why are you even commenting?

4. If this was the other way around, EU getting free transfer but NA paying for it, all who are against it now would rage about it being unfair, and that's why all of you are double-standard.

I think EU players should be allowed to transfer for free, but Square Enix has to make sure that they dont flock over to the most populated server.

PS: What happens if a EU player who wants to transfer from a NA server has the same name as someone who is already playing on a EU server? I take it, two players can not share the same character name+surname, so who has to change?

I wouldn't even mind if the free transfers would only be offered to the less populated servers / from the more populated servers - both ways between EU and NA datacenters of course. This would actually benefit all servers in question.

The person who moves has to change their character's name if it's already picked by someone else.
