as above, SE could do with including some optimised VPNs along the lines of wtfast, etc (keep in mind console players cannot use these tools at all) if they really expect to take money from people in the southern hemisphere.

I don't think SE wouldn't spend the money for a data center in Australia. The market is too small. Australia has a population of about 21 million, studies show far less people are in to playing video games vs North America. If you look at the NA region, now US has 320 million population and Canada has 35 million.
Adding a physical server here in Asutralia doesn't just affect Australians.I don't think SE wouldn't spend the money for a data center in Australia. The market is too small. It vastly improves Pings for everyone in NZ, PNG, Indonesia and Malaysia. The Philipines may also see an improvement. So add the populations in those countries to the tally.
I note 21 million isn't nearly enough for even a single server - yet apparently 35 million is enough for more than half of them.
Square may have well have decided to put them on the North Pole as far as people in aus/nz are concerned.
And seriously, if SE doesn't think this is a market to spend their money, then they shouldn't have their hands out for it either.
Oh, gosh! Titan...! Playing any mode, I always tend to get knocked off as you have to anticipate where the AoE will be to even have a chance of avoiding it. ><
I play from Brisbane, and my ping varies greatly, depending on the time of day.
I almost quit FFXIV a year or so back because of titan HM (before I got pingzapper), I kept being knocked off by landslides, despite crossing half the room, and if someone else ran past me and dropped a landslide on me, (I used to move before the landslide appears) forget it, I would still be knocked off. Rural New Zealand internet for the win /sarcasm. I was having 360+ ping at the time.
>.< People kept telling me over and over to delete my character, uninstall, and end subscription because "I was blaming latency for being bad" when really, it was the really bad ping. I mean, moving before it even is visible on my screen and STILL being knocked off!? Do I have to be a PSYCHIC to be a "good" player?
It made me quit for 3 months because I was so frustrated.
Oceanic server/s would be awesome.
It'd help a *lot* for the OCE crowd if they'd move the frickin servers to west coast NA and out of Montreal.
I know they won't do AU servers(hell I'd probably get better latency there), but its be faster.
I'm also on tonberry and I'm in Melbourne and my Ping is 90ms~107ms with the nbn I'm happy with that better then 137 with out nbn lol
