Everbody to your corners! Back to your cornersss! ... Okay, tap gloves.
Mormo was an unusually powerful succubus imprisoned in an aether-draining urn by the mages of Sil'dih. When the urn was opened instead of shattered, the critically weak succubus possessed Cocobusi because he was the first thing she encountered. Possession is not the same as manifestation; succubi manifest in this realm using female corpses. Mormo, however, was too powerful to simply slip through one of the small rifts that form between the corporeal world and the void and into a fresh corpse. She needed to snack on quite a bit of aether to get the job done, and used Cocobusi's body to drain it from local thaumaturges.
In the LV30 quest, Mormo has stolen alllmost enough aether to manifest, so she uses Cocobusi's body to seduce a few female adventurers and lure them to a cave to be slaughtered, one of them being her final thaumaturge victim, who escapes because Cocobusi's brother offers his own aether, instead, trusting that Mormo can't resist consuming the energy of a mage as powerful as he and that the Warrior of Light will successfully slay her as soon as she takes form.
Mormo visibly abandons Cocobusi and materializes from the three female corpses in the cave.
Bonus Trivia: When Mormo realizes she might lose, she re-animates their discarded skeletons as Ashkin wights.
