The Great Gubal Library has a book on Lady Amandine which is chonrologicly wrong?

Okay, I'm one of those people who has to read every note in a dungeon, when near the end of the library I found a diary which appears to mentioning Lady Amandine and her fate and the succubus she becomes. Unless I misread the text this shouldn't be here. the Great Gubal Library was abandon 15 years ago. Lady Amandine only turned to the dark arts 5 years ago after being disfigured in the calamity. If i didn't misread the book this means the book was mentioning events 10 years prior to them happening.

    That struck me too. However!

The library seems to be occupied by quite a few voidsent. The book was written from the perspective of... well, maybe or maybe not a literal voidsent, but definitely not someone with good intentions at heart.

EDIT: (Daily limit) here's the screenshot

Just to be safe in case someone opens this thread without expecting it.... SPOILER WARNING

On reading it, I'm not really too clear on who the "succubus" is... is it some voidsent/otherly world being the author has fallen in love with, and Amandine is but a vessel to bring them into this one? Or was it a partner of Amandine, and they're referring to one of the maids they experimented on..?

I don't have the screenshots handy as they're on my home PC, but wasn't the gist of it that some crazy admirer of hers attempted to create a succubus in her image and the whole thing went horribly wrong?

Did a little translation to make sure. Japanese and German only say, "Succubi are beautiful and I want one!" English and French went out of their way to characterize the writer of the diary as having met Lady Amandine and having become absolutely enamored by her beauty. As of the writing of the diary, Amadine is still human. He's simply comparing the beauty of the high succubus to her without knowing that, ironically, she herself would one day become possessed by one.

Either way, the guy has a corpse and he's trying to summon a succubus into it so he can ...get down... with it, and he totally botches the attempt.

Just for fun, here's my trademark combined and paraphrased version of all four languages' contributions and characterizations.

Beauty is by its very nature impermanent, but it doesn't have to be so. Just look at Lady Amandine; her beauty will never fade.
The beauty of the high succubus, however, is indescribable. As they say, every rose has its thorns!

Nothing has ever made my heart tremble this way.
As difficult as it was, I was able to procure a corpse to act as the vessel.
It's not quite up to my standards, but beggars can't be choosers, one should not look a gift horse in the mouth, etc. etc.
Oh, but if only I could have used the body Lady Amandine, herself...

As per instructions, the body has been embalmed, washed, and anointed. All that remains is to summon my beautiful creature from the void.
I've also made sure to secure the body to the bed with chains. I can't have her getting any ideas above her station, now, can I?

I can scarcely describe my excitement. It's almost time for our honeymoon!

Oh, gods, it's all gone wrong! The tentacles! So many tentacles!
And the sound emanating from it's foul, squid-like form as it writhes on the bed! I can't stand it!
I don't know where I went wrong, or how I'm going to dispose of this... this thing!
    My dreams of beauty... broken...

    I've made a terrible mistake.
...wait, a minute. ...Ultros?... Is that why he's so lewd!?

"Human" is not a very user-friendly term in Eorzea, now that you mention it. I meant it more as a way to imply that she still had her person-hood - her "humanity" - not that she was hyuran. She just wasn't yet a voidsent's meatsuit. The game very rarely uses the word human, but it has on occasion, in a similar context. The French name definitely implies Elezen, though did we get anything to assume Clan? A lot of Duskwights resisted joining Gridania.

(Bonus: Amandine is a French name given to various substances containing almonds, though it could also just come from Amanda, which means loveable or worthy of love and seems to fit better with her story.).

She's described as a "wealthy Duskwright" in the dungeon description for Haukke Manor in the Duty Finder. Maybe House Dartancours is actually originally from Ishgard and not Gridania?
