Did a little translation to make sure. Japanese and German only say, "Succubi are beautiful and I want one!" English and French went out of their way to characterize the writer of the diary as having met Lady Amandine and having become absolutely enamored by her beauty. As of the writing of the diary, Amadine is still human. He's simply comparing the beauty of the high succubus to her without knowing that, ironically, she herself would one day become possessed by one.
Either way, the guy has a corpse and he's trying to summon a succubus into it so he can ...get down... with it, and he totally botches the attempt.
Just for fun, here's my trademark combined and paraphrased version of all four languages' contributions and characterizations.
...wait, a minute. ...Ultros?... Is that why he's so lewd!?Beauty is by its very nature impermanent, but it doesn't have to be so. Just look at Lady Amandine; her beauty will never fade.
The beauty of the high succubus, however, is indescribable. As they say, every rose has its thorns!
Nothing has ever made my heart tremble this way.
As difficult as it was, I was able to procure a corpse to act as the vessel.
It's not quite up to my standards, but beggars can't be choosers, one should not look a gift horse in the mouth, etc. etc.
Oh, but if only I could have used the body Lady Amandine, herself...
As per instructions, the body has been embalmed, washed, and anointed. All that remains is to summon my beautiful creature from the void.
I've also made sure to secure the body to the bed with chains. I can't have her getting any ideas above her station, now, can I?
I can scarcely describe my excitement. It's almost time for our honeymoon!
Oh, gods, it's all gone wrong! The tentacles! So many tentacles!
And the sound emanating from it's foul, squid-like form as it writhes on the bed! I can't stand it!
I don't know where I went wrong, or how I'm going to dispose of this... this thing!
My dreams of beauty... broken...
I've made a terrible mistake.
