CT is dead, please fix

Old content really isn't relevant right now. High lvl/msq/lvling roulettes are only good for leveling, and they're not even good at that. Everything else you just have to do once for story, and if you were caught up you don't need em at all. How is 2.X content relevant right now?

If you were just "responding", you should know that your "response" didn't really address my post's context and points accurately, but okay.

You're silly if you think new players who think they want to gut most of the game without experiencing it won't run out of things to do sooner and complain about that if they had their way though.

If lots of people who are already at that point are doing it, what makes you think they wouldn't? I'm sure many would.

And the people wanting CT to be revived don't doubt wanting it. We've had pretty much FFXIV's entire lifetime to get to known the formula and figure out if we like it, and just want it to be applied to CT.

There's literally no reason for us to think we want it when we've had XIV's entire lifetime to get to know the effects. We know we want it.

I disagree. I get very good experience from it, and it's partly why I've been able to level several jobs to 60 already without having the time to grind much.

And judging by the lack of complaints around the topic, especially vs FATEs at launch, and the quick queue times lately for me at least, I'd say the incentive is working as intended and is indeed worth it to many people.

Regardless, relics will soon make old content even more relevant. A healthy player base for all levels of content, it's a good thing.

Level 60s who post and say that old content like Crystal Tower is useless and nobody wants or needs to run it, are thinking solely in terms of BEING far above level 50. Of course you don't need to run the place. However that census indicated that pretty close to 65-70% of the player base is LESS than level 53 ish and could definitely use CT and other 'old content' to gear and level up with, since ya know, they haven't even got to the HW areas yet...

Story for you:
A few nights ago I queued for WoD because i needed the pearl for the weekly for a new class. 21 of the 24 were NEW and never done the place! LOL
You can imagine how much fun the Eyeball fight was :P
Me and one group's tank and another's WHM explained all the fights and we actually only wiped 4 times in the entire run. It was a lot of fun and most of the news all said they loved the place.

You again? I'll say it again since you probably didn't see it in the other topic. but the census doesn't show the population. It just showed the jobs leveled. You can have all 60s but 1 and that single one under 60 counts for the %. Last topic you were going on about lvl 41, now its 53 lol Same thing still applies. It's counting the jobs people leveled. So if someone either didn't like the job, didn't unlock it, was leveling it during the census or has no plans to finish leveling it, then those count for the under X level. Not the population.

You don't even have to do CT to "gear up" anymore. The game gives new players the i90 gear from their af quests now, so that skips over CT and from all the gil from the MSQ quest (about 300k or so), they can easily buy the i115 white gear off the market since they can't access Ishgard.

It's just math. The exp isn't bad, but you can get more from a hw dungeon at 51+. They're a fun change of pace every now and then if you're into that sort of thing, but they aren't the most xp efficient way to level by a pretty decent margin. They're just enough xp for it to be worth doing if you already wanted to do it anyways, but no more than that.

I don't wanna run 2.0 content for 3.0 gear. There's no case (since the xp for roulettes is what I just now said) where the devs have done so thus far, which doesn't mean they never will, but it's definitely not the overt design direction of the game either. After heavensward you never need to touch 2.0 content, and I'm fine with that. You can undersize anything except CT. Add CT to the list, and problem solved. Why make it more complicated than that?

Let's just not do the new players thing. Neither of us speak for new players. I completely disagree, but neither of us can back that up, so let's just agree to disagree on that point and move on to others.

Because some of us would actually like to have it as a roulette. I know I for one would happily queue up for a CT roulette-- I'd much rather run those repeatedly than CM and Prae. There's nothing forcing you to queue for a roulette if you don't want to-- I don't like running CM and Prae (unless I'm taking a friend through) so I just plain don't run Main Scenario roulette. But it's there so that the people who do want to run it can.

New players still have to do the grind the same way old players did. Lvl 50 dungeons still have ilevel caps that have to be met before running them. I think they somewhat fixed this by giving the i90 gear straight off the bat now, but there is still a significant tome grind for new players to get the updated 50 gear (ilvl 120), which is still relevant to people without the expansion.
