You don't need a parse to know if dps is being bad. When you're on stuff such as faust NM, have both healers dpsing and manage to get to enrage, you know kicks need to be ensued.

And how do you know WHO is not pulling their weight?
Yes, you know that DPS is bad, but there is no way to tell which of them is without a parser.
That's what people that are against parsing don't think about. When it comes to exclude people, parse pinpoints the problem straight out. Meanwhile without a parse you have to take guesses or exclude every single dps which usually leads to the full disband of the party.
I actually wished i was parsing when the example i gave above happened, because when you have cleric on the whole fight, call out the dps is low and get a "what do you know about it? you only heal" is annoying.

The trick I use on the ps4 is to look at aggro rankings on party list. If you're hitting enrage, obviously the lowest aggro ranked dps is the issue

You can also tell if your top dps is pulling low numbers by the aggro percentage. If the aggro gauge for the player 2nd on aggro list is less than half, then that means they're also pulling low numbers. And if healers are ahead of dps on aggro, then all dps are shit
For example, in my static, the dragoon and I are always behind MT in aggro, with the gauge at +80%. The dragoon has a parser, I dont; but I can tell whether or not Im top dps by our aggro rankings.
I support the idea of personal parsers, where you can only see your numbers.

I feel bad for any non-MNK DPS in your groups if you are the one in charge of replacing the "lowest DPS".
Can we please just abolish the whole "aggro is DPS" myth altogether? It's not an indicator of any performance but tank performance, and it never will be.
I apologize, I may have jumped ship for saying aggro ranking is same as dps ranking. Let me correct myself. Aggro ranking for melees are dps indicators.
DRGs have Elusive; NINs have their Smokescreen thing.
You are wrong on every account except MNK, which can be expected considering it seems to be your main, but please don't spread misinformation.
so you're telling me, a dps ripping aggro from Tank mid fight is not the top dps atm?
Also, I may not be a dragoon, but Im pretty sure elusive jump is barely used in end game raids other than skipping adds on t10 and getting back to melee ranged asap (a3s). So if a dragoon is using elusive jump to lower his enmity, it means his dps is pretty high to be on brink of ripping aggro from tanks. I dont have a ninja in my static, so I don't know anything about their skills and uses.

That doesn't work well. There are skills which lower/pass enmity (such as Quelling Strikes, used by BLM SMN BRD and MCH). Then there is also NIN's smoke screen and shade walker. Additionally, SMN pet doesn't pass agro from it's DPS to their owner. That's a significant chunk of SMN dps that doesn't create enmity for the SMN.
