    Well I only just got out of bed so some jokes, especially sarcasm might go over my head until I am fully awake but I think the overall point I was making stands. You/he can simply skip over the first half of my first sentence in my reply if was joke and joke simply didn't register with me since still half asleep until go down make my morning coffee.
