I didnt expect them to change the item/favor rate, i believe they did this on purpose so we have to use the rare favor mats too if we want to cap our crafting each week. Its fine as it is imo, if they buffed the rate it would screw anyone who spent days of farming favors before the patch.
The mentality that they should be afraid to improve things because people had it bad before isn't a good way going forward, the way you need to look at it is, the people that did it when it was bad will have a better time in the future.
