Your sarcasm and baseless hyperbole is noted. I'd rather not have FFXIV end up like those MMOs, where most of the new gear designs come to the cash shop and are noticeably higher quality than the ones that come from in game play, and things that were formerly developed as obtainable in game (such as dyes) have new variants that are just stuck on the cash shop for no reason other than "I want your money". Maybe that's just me. If allowed to do so, you can bet it will be done by SE.

Also, not sure why you think vanity isn't important to some people, because it is. Who are you to tell anyone what they should define as their gameplay experience or what they should enjoy? Achievements, collecting things, making things....those are part of the gameplay experience. And when minions (that could have been gotten from achievements in game) or dyes (that could have been made craftable, even with rare/expensive ingredients if need be) are added to the cash shop rather than to the game, gameplay and to a small but cumulative degree, subscription value, do start to suffer to make way for instant gratification. Think outside of the box.

So the only things that was trule non-ingame are the Paints, Minions (some were event minions tho), Sleipnir mount, Fantasia Potions, the Moonlet earring (if I recall it's from 1.0) and the Wedding bands (basic one is free tho). The rest was free during events.
Yeah, that's why I mentioned exclusive items particularly bother me. The event items being on there don't bother me as much...but seeing as previous events offered old event items as rewards, it makes little sense to me why some have to be on the cash shop now. There are many ways they could have added old event items to the game without bringing in a cash shop (such as using special leves during seasonal event times, leves that offer old items or tokens for them), or they could have just left them seasonal event exclusive. Despite what some people say, and as unfortunate as it is that some people would be left out, maintaining promised, limited time in-game item exclusivity has its own perks for the community as a whole.

If they were going to throw exclusivity out the window (as in make event items everyone thought were obtainable for a limited time be obtainable afterwards), they could have done so without utilizing the cash shop. That was the easy, profitable option, not the fairest or most rewarding option for the player.
