(also "different from yourself" doesn't automatically mean "the opposite gender", it can be a character of the same gender, but you still view it as a character and not as a "representation of yourself" :3 )

Well... It's pretty much the same rhethoric as the irl-males who play female characters cos they want to look at eyecandy while they play :p

Personally, I'm male IRL, and I don't particularly look at gender when I make a character XD I'm also an altoholic, with several male and female characters; this one happened to become my main (after I got my previous main up to level 46+ XD). I've used a couple of fantasia potions on 'im, though, so he's been both male and female. Started out as a male miqo'te though (as should be obvious from the name).

I really love lalafells boys but my old FC forced me to be a miqo'te because they keep thinking that lalafells are just a troll class.

^ This example implies that you aren't 'living the fantasy' if you play a character of your gender?
You're terrible at logic. Deductive reasoning and fluid concepts such as gender, or identity, are as oil and water.

I always play female character, though I am male.

I actually started doing this in 1984 in a D&D game precisely because it let me figure out who had mental issues as noted above...
    - Could very quickly learn to cut those people out of my gaming groups.

But I've been doing that for so long now when I try to make a male character they just feel 'off / out of place' and I can't 'get into their heads'...

In MMOs, for years my main was a female Tauren Warrior, and in GW2, it was a one-eyed female Charr Warrior. I make some of them 'attractive' and some not - as the mood strikes me. They're characters after all, not me. And its very revealing to see how other people's biases / psych-problems come out over it.

Back when I started my former WoW guild, in 2007... the characters were maybe 70% male, but the players were about 70% women - and it was all over the place who was on what. All the people who made 'weird comments' about who might be playing what and why got a bit of an awakening when we got our vent-server, and didn't last long in the guild.

I'm a male playing a female character. I actually prefer to play male characters, but there's two reasons why I'm not.

    1) It's REALLY REALLY hard to find nice outfits for male casters. At least, outfits /I/ like. All I want is a nice shirt(not extremely plain, but not crazy like the sailor outfit), a pair of shorts(NOT short shorts or flood pants) and nice shoes that actually match. Which is impossible. A school boy outfit would be PERFECT for me.

    2) My healer partner harassed me constantly to change to female (from male). He'd prefer to look at my character this way. :| lol
