That's not how you compare mitigation. Shield Oath, Grit and Defiance all increase eHP by the same amount. Ignore tank stances when comparing cooldowns since they're effectively identical. It doesn't matter that two are a % reduction and one is a HP/healing increase. If all 3 tanks took a hit that did 100% of their HP in tank stance, Sentinel would reduce that by 40% while Vengeance/Shadow Wall only reduce it by 30%.


Every fight (except maybe A4S) still has physical damage to block. You passively have a chance to reduce incoming damage while WAR/DRK have to use cooldowns. That's an advantage, even if it's just blocking Oppressor autoattacks.
