You seem to misunderstand. I agree with the idea of a transfer.
However, I disagree with the idea that players(and FCs) who transfer should have to pay for a new plot+transfer fee.
Previous owners already put forth that same effort as a new person(or FC) buying a house, granted they did it earlier than Ishgardian housing. That is the only difference between the two groups.

That depended a lot on which city-state you wanted to live in =) Goblet was the one that was open the longest. IIRC, Mist was gone very quickly once they opened up housing for individuals, and Lavender Beds filled up fairly quickly, too.

But I'll admit the 10 minutes or so was a slight hyperbole; it was mainly a reflection back on that time when they added one ward to each area, instead of all them sub-divisions that basically doubled the number of plots/wards. I still remember the raging from back then ^^

Which is one of the most ridiculous, stupid systems they could have come up with.

We cannot even upgrade houses without losing a ton of items. (When are we getting the option to remove these items without them being destroyed? Hmm? Maybe then I'll sell my personal house that I never use).

We cannot move houses without losing our airships (I mean really who's dumb idea was it to tie these to the workshop and not the FC?????).

It could be such a better system but it seems no resources are going into it.

If a company chooses to relocate it's headquarters IRL, many things are lost and the costs can be tremendous. The workshop is under ground, under the FC house. Logically if you sell that house, you would fill in the secret basement workshopto prevent anyone from making use of your super secret stuff, you'd then start over in a new location, building a new secret basement lab.

I'm not sure that this system is really as stupid as you thingit is.

Good way to suck gil out of the game rather than give it to another player.

You want to move, you buy the place and move.

The way I see it, as soon as an Ishgard housing area is announced, people would start selling off their current plots for insane sums of gil. Since we're already so starved for housing plots, people would buy. If we have the ability to transfer to Ishgard, presumably the previous plot will be surrendered. That way it will be open for anyone to buy, at the original plot starting price. That beats the hell out of paying someone millions of gil to surrender the plot, then more millions of gil to buy it and build it.

The real mistake was allowing personal housing and free company housing to be jumbled together.

I sure hope they double the existing plots before they implement Ishgardian housing. Just adding 1/3 more housing will not solve the housing problems....

Ya, a real silly to want to no longer be locked out of more and more content behind a wall of first come first served.
