How can we make Bards and Machinist better?

There's been a bard or machinist (sometimes even both, from what I'm hearing) in every competitive savage group so far.

They don't need to be fixed anymore.

I have multiple characters, a character for every class/job I play. I don't do the multi-class/job thing. Sorry dude. :'3

That just sounds horrible. I can't even imagine going through the story that many times...surely you at least get cross class skills?

I'm baffled that anyone would choose to play this way!
