DPS > protect as damage mitigation. I'm also trying to finish this dungeon without stalling the group by switching protect in when it isn't necessary. Why is protect necessary to do everything you can as a healer? If it has zero impact on the run, then why not start the run earlier and finish it faster?

And I agree about causing less raucous but I don't think we should just sit by and let the tanks tell the healers how to do their job. That is bullying and I won't stand for it. If they don't want to argue then they could possibly just attempt to run the dungeon and see for themselves how possible it is to accomplish anything in this game without 2% damage mitigation!

You're kidding right? Please tell me this is a joke. He asked nicely if you could cast Protect and when you argued with him that dpsing was a better idea, he politely left instead of telling you how to play. He respectfully disagreed with you. If he was bullying you, he would have stayed in the dungeon and argued with you but he didn't.

If you don't consider the topic to be important then you are free to stop discussing it.

Here is some advice on being respectful. If you're ever inclined to ignore a problem and just ditch people that you signed up to do something with, be sure to discuss your problem first. It should be clear to most people that the respectful thing is not to ignore it and walk away, that is the option of the weak minded and the lazy. It should also be pointed out that if your idea of "asked nicely" is "protect?" then you should seek to revise your definition of "nice".
