Required rank on all gear

It was a vague statement that was taken the wrong way. It was taken as "Optimal rank for everything will be phased out."

Instead Bay means that required rank will be added to items dropped from Instanced raids and similar activities while crafted gear will remain optimal.

And no, this has nothing to do with our QQing, it was miscommunication. I'm almost positive there was no intention to snuff out all optimal ranked gear.

i guess i never find the item i need for my level due to craft never making it. Ya i know i know people you going to tell me Level up a craft that what i'm doing lol.

@Arcell don't Quote on what i said what bay said was a miscommunication and what i said i stand they should be no optimal ranked for gear. Everyone game have this and it work just fine don't try and be something else when you everything else you do is the same. Let's start but in WoW/FFXI that would work because you can find the gear in "Dungeon" Drop by "Mobs" many "Quest" but in FFXIV everything would be made by the craft class. Which then lead to the issue of craft not making item because no one buying them due to people wearing 10+rank gear above them.

Which then make other issue it force me to A: Look for someone to craft "Buy the item" then pay the person top of buying all the item to make it for me.

B: Level up the craft myself and take me days and hour just to use that set of gear.

or

C: Just wear +10 Above gear due to no one selling it.

But w/e i can care less i'll just level up the craft and make the gear myself and my gf would do the other set of craft and we don't have to buy anything i guess lol. Seem like more work on a player i feel sorry for casual but then again they don't care what they wear so that not much of a issue.

Again the crafting argument is pretty weak. The current state of the obnoxious requirements for crafting gear is a bigger part of the reason a lot of gear isn't being crafted.

Tweak the optimal rank system to have a higher penalty for out of rank and a greater bonus for on or above rank and you create the same kind of demand a rank requirement system does. People need the appropriate rank gear because it is a detriment to not wear it. Add this in with materia and simplified crafting and you'll have people making gear for all ranks on the market.

With low/mid rank gear being much cheaper to make after the changes I suspect more people will make it.

Also if you have trouble finding gear, joining a Linkshell does wonders. In mine at least we have people who love crafting that are more than happy to help others get the gear they need.

Joining a linkshell does noting when post member are missing doing there own stuff or ask for you to get the item even if you paying them. But yes had people make gear for me and i even made gear myself before i reroll. But i guess SE know what there doing lol at least i hope over a few years of FFXI i losing hope day by day with FFXIV every being really made to play good.

D: Just use lvl 1 stuff until lvl XX because it sucks that you can't wear high level stuff. Let's get gimped because of the restriction. That's what I get from playing FFXI, gil is so little for a new player while leveling curve is getting eased more and more.

Tell that to the new players, thanks. Gil is an issue for new players, especially there are body, pants, belt, gloves, boots, hat, 4 x ring, 2 x bracelet, 1 x choker, 2 x earring, 1 x main hand, 1 x throwing and potential 1 x offhand / ammo.

For instance, as a new player in FFXI I find it hard to believe the cheapest price for lvl 10 knuckle = entire gil I've made from grinding my MNK to lvl 14...

You do understand that there 12 point limit right? So i don't even know what you saying it's a lot. I have 1earring 1neck and 4rings that my 12points. You bought one set of gear, precisely why you get 1m. If gears are r restricted, you don't buy 1 set, you buy 1 set every 5 ranks. 36/5 = 7 sets. And you are not a new player, new players =/= reroll, new players aint exactly the people who know how to optimise gil grind.

Yes, you do need to buy them all. Otherwise, why would you want them rank restricted in the first place if all you are going to do is skip them?
