You guys worked hard to develop the belts I wanna see them.

This used to be a thing in 1.0 but then down the line gear got more elaborate and I guess it would look silly over everything also man every belt tasasts or sash looks exactly the same.
If this was possible, I could finally do my Terra glamour.
you are kinda missing the point...
like if you wanted this outfit minus all the stuff on the midsection.
or if you wanted to add something that didn't go with the original design (yes this is not a piece we can equip but you can imagine)
easiest one to see is GLD armor... if you wanted to remover those little side flaps...
regardless the system IS still in place even if they just simplified it.
Pretty sure it's PS3 memory limitations on this one. 1.0 had visable belts, and 2.0 removed this feature.

No your missing the point that stuff is from early 1.0 they stopped adjusting new gear so belts could be seen once Jobs came out which means AF and Dark light. Besides this is one of the very detailed things that was great in 1.0 they looked great but you also forgetting that this elaborate detail is what caused such problems in 1.0.
I'd like it if they could be seen but I don't see it happening.
Would be nice to have this feature back, but I really couldn't see them going back and separating all of the bodies and belts, and then making new models for belts that don't have models. It would be a monumental task.
Designer Time limitation, not PS3 limitation.
SE announced back in 1.23 that they remove the visible belts in ARR so the designers can create more varied gears in shorter time (can create the belt region how they want instead of making sure that every belt fit to the gear).

This. Specifically it was the extensive amount of clipping the mixed and matched designs caused. In the end it was about body and leg design.Designer Time limitation, not PS3 limitation.

Crystal Tools, the engine that powered 1.0, was never going to run on the PS3 to begin with. It barely ran on the average PC of the day. That said, the belt slot was a substantial headache for gear design. There were alot of unique belt models forcing designers to make a body piece for every belt, for every body piece. Some leg pieces also had variations depending on the belt, like the White Mage Culottes (on female characters, I hated that soo much). That's alot of game assets for just one gear slot.
