I disagree, aside from the myriad reasons a low level player doesn't need glamours, letting a level 4 player glamour up to level 50 gear just means that they'll buy up all the cheap high level gear which will inflate the prices and leave the economy even more destabilized than it is. What you're proposing would lead to high economic disparity amongst new players and the veterans, a hole which most new players could no longer craft/gather their way out of if they wanted to use glamours.

Welp, it will be an easier way to spot a gil buyer, if nothing else.

I'm not entirely opposed to the idea, but I would be concerned about the potential for RMT abuse that would allow low level players to glamour high end vanity items. It's more of a player fault than the game's, but it is something I could see happening.

While your at it can we also have an auto levelling feature so that I don't have to play the game to get to the good stuff.

Completely agree with this. I don't have any problem with low level folks getting to glamour things, but they should NOT be able to glamour gear of higher levels.

Yeah, that annoys me too >.< They should at least weight the damn thing, so equip level counts for more than item level. (Say, for example, you wanted to glamour the Mog ribbon onto a level 50 i55 choker; it would fail, because the equip level is the same, but the item level is lower on the choker. But if you wanted to glamour the Mog ribbon onto a level 54 i90 choker, it would work, because the equip level of the choker is higher.)

(Now, there's a reason why my first level 50 was Fisher, because I wanted to get that damn glamour system, and Fisher was the quickest to level that didn't automatically screw with my MSQ progress...)

I remember getting to somewhere around 30, and getting a pink chestpiece from a leve... I wanted to glamour it onto the gear I was still using because it was pretty, even if the stats sucked. But the problem was that the aetherial quality of the gear lowered the equip level requirement but not the item level, so while i could equip it, the item level was TWO higher than the gear I was using >.< And so it wasn't allowed.

As stated, the glamour system doesn't actually work well at low levels. You have to be able to equip an item in order use it for glamour. In contrast to that, there isn't actually a requirement past being level 50 on "a job" to accept the quest and activate the feature for your character. So... one could always have a friend power level a crafter through leves and get it unlocked (as well as a way to make money) in a matter of hours.

Since you never said what those reasons are, you have no argument. Secondly, letting a level 4 player glamour up to 50 gear, or 60 gear is VERY GOOD, A VERY GOOD THING. It makes it so gear from crafters sells faster, thus making the economy healthier because right now there is a lot more then what people want to buy. I think you don't understand how economy works.

Right now, BALMUNG especially... We have an overbloat of gear that not many people want to buy.

Here is something you can study, once you have finished that you can come back and reply, ok? Know that on servers, most servers - especially Balmung we have LOTS of supply and LITTLE demand. This helps. =) ALOT!~~

It can work at lower levels. If that person can get to Rev's toll at level 10, he probably knows how to glamour and use the stuff. =)

Well, I'd say it works -- just not as effectively as at higher levels. There is plenty of ugly levelling gear that I've chosen to glamour into something less ugly (the gatherer adidas shorts, the cowls, the shoes -- oh gods the shoes -- the list goes on), opting to spend gil or effort to get a prism for those few levels I've used that gear piece rather than wearing it. Before unlocking the glamour system, my only option was to not wear the gear piece at all, sticking with the lower level gear.

And... there sort of is another level 50 requirement. To craft those prisms. Why they chose to have you be level 50 in order to attempt to craft level 30 items you can't make HQ in the first place... It baffles me. Sure, have the quest to unlock glamour crafting be 50, but don't force a level 50 requirement to read the book that unlocks the level 30 recipes! >.<

And, like I mentioned in my previous post, Fisher is the easiest non-combat class to get to 50. It's also a lot less expensive than levelling up a crafting class or two, though the latter comes with the perk of being able to unlock glamour prism crafting, and if you pick the right crafting class, you can easily get back the money you spend on prisms for other types of gear.

Honestly, they should just make the glamour system in this game the same as DCU Online. For those who didn't play it, in that game, you could glamour anything you could equip, no prisms, no silly quest to unlock it. Equip the piece, go into the menu, couple clicks and it's glamoured. Also, it saves the glamour to the server, meaning once you've equipped a piece, you've "unlocked" it for future use.....even if you throw the item away, it remains part of your glamour options. Forever.

It also saved the look you set, so any future upgrade armor/weapon you obtain, the game automatically converts that new Chest Armor of Badassery +2(because +1 had one less STR. Duh!) right into the glamour you've saved, regardless of what it is. Every time, until you manually change it in the menus.

Oh, and before anyone comes in here and says "PS3 limitations! Can't be done!" DCU Online is playable on PS3/PS4/PC, the same exact platforms as FFXIV.
