Glamour changes please.

I'd say the glamour quest belongs at around level 17. That puts changing your gear's appearance halfway between being able to change its color with dye and being able to change its stats with materia.

As for the level of the gear and glamour, I think it should follow the rule used in most other circumstances: Let people glamour anything they can wear. In many (probably most) cases, that would come out much like the current rule, but would be just slightly less restrictive. For example, a level 30 White Mage would be able to glamour her level 27 Velveteen Cowl to look like a level 30 Velveteen Gown since both are wearable but the only stat-useful one is a few levels lower.

To me that translates to "low level players shouldn't be allowed to have fun. Want to have fun? at least put some effort for it and get to level 50"

To me it translates to "If anybody can have what I have, then I won't be a special snowflake anymore". Glamour is fun, and gives you zero gameplay advantage. Everyone should be able to have fun, no matter their level.

Edited to add, it's totally needed for low level players and alts that can afford it - I flat refused to wear some upgrades when new and small because I hated how they looked. (looking at you harnesses and subligar) {{{{shudder}}}}

Not only is your gear replacement rate horrendously fast, especially with how fast the MSQs blow you through levels now, but a proper new character isn't going to have anything worth a damn to glamour into anyways.

That's not true. A lot of the low level equipment is really good looking. (I glamour my level 50 bard in level 25 gear because it's the best look I've seen through the whole game.) Low level equipment (especially for DoW) seems to alternate between really nice looking pieces and really ugly pieces. When at one of the ugly levels, you have to settle for wearing ugly gear in dungeons and lower stat gear the rest of the time. Glamour would be a much better solution.

And you only replace gear fast if you're leveling fast. Not everyone likes to level fast. It took me about a year to hit 50, and even at that I was rushing a bit at the end (because of wanting to unlock both glamour and housing). I think I've been swapping out gear faster since hitting 50 than I did while leveling up.

Ummm... are you all forgetting that the glamour prisms are all level 50 crafts? Even if they get the quest and do the quest at level 1, they still have to get a crafter to level 50 to craft the prisms anyways. Lol, all this talk about how they should have access to the quest early is pointless when they wouldn't be able to craft the items anyways until level 50. And even then, the items that are necessary to craft them are at least level 20-30. If they just want to be able to buy the prisms and glamor crappy looking gear to other crappy looking gear, sure, why not?

By this argument you shouldn't be able to dye until level 30 because you need level 30 crafter/gatherer to make dyes.

You can kind of be all classes on a single character. I mean that is a thing.

Since you never said what those reasons are, you have no argument. Secondly, letting a level 4 player glamour up to 50 gear, or 60 gear is VERY GOOD, A VERY GOOD THING. It makes it so gear from crafters sells faster, thus making the economy healthier because right now there is a lot more then what people want to buy. I think you don't understand how economy works.

Because I wanted to glamour ribbon of xx from Mog king to my fisher, but i couldn't because it had higher ilvl.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can glamour the ribbon from mog king for my DoH and DoL necklace before 3.0 (Even I can glamour my DoH with dreadwyrm accessories.). The restriction is only from level, not item level.

Your worried about a low level character (pre50) getting Ironworks/Alexander gear. Ok, let that thought flow into your mind a bit.

isnt that what you want? to glamour higher level gear to the low level character? maybe not IW/alex but any lvl 50 vendor gear

Also make it where you can glamour low level items with higher level ones.

or am i getting whoosh-ed here?
