Problem with that is if there is any fights they can leave at anytime and you gonna end up paying full rent and finding replacement quick

Even after marriage if you don't have kids it's possible to stick with same style if your wife/husband plays the same way you do. If you have kids then you have more responsibility to raise them and take care of them and make sure to have fun with them Family > Game always. One thing for sure though... my son gonna PL me when he grows up lol j/k

Still gotta go with Eekiki on this one.

Almost every post in this thread is about how people are "restricted" in how often and how long they can play. Try slapping a restriction on your wife's shopping like that and lemme know how it goes lol

"Ok hun... Your limit is 2 shopping nights per week, with a spending limit of $200 per week. Go!

    ...

...you find divorce papers on your desk two days later."

I'd like the freedom to spend my time however I choose, my significant other should know that I'm going to chose them over a game or anything else for that matter. I don't need to be treated like a child with "curfew-like rules".

Exactly. I'm all about equality, and just about everyone giving me dating advice is telling me the secret to finding love is to let the woman do whatever she wants and obey her every command.

No thanks. Neko-sentai and Motherless will keep my primal urges sated until I meet someone who's willing to be my partner rather than my taskmaster.

    Great OP.

We decided that I could have 3 days a week that are dedicated to FF. This is after working all day, so I usually end up with 3 sessions of 3 or 4 hours a week. Enough to kill Batraal a couple times, and maybe run some battle leves.

Other than that, crafting requires almost zero attention so I do that while I am forced to watch some BS about the Kardashians or General Hospital or whatever crap she makes me watch.

Either way, once a month its inevitably a hot issue. I am convinced its just like anything else. You gotta fight tooth and nail for what you want, or it will be absorbed.

Splitting time and STICKING to the schedule does work, but it sucks. 3x a week is all i get, and I WANT MORE!

It's funny how the single people saying how they dislike "restricted" but soon they get a GF they really love. They be off FFXIV and be "restricted". Don't sit there and tell me you wont because it happen to me before.

Anyways i'm happy that my GF also play games she like playing healers and i like playing DD so we do a pretty good time and seeing how everything in this game is solo beside the dungeon we don't really much other people with us.

Well, there's my mom sleeping right behind me as I play and she does complain a bit about the brightness of the screen.

    Does that count?

My friend.. you're been played lol im from Venezuela ( right next to colombia ) and the gaming culture is the same as in the US ( i now live in miami )while growing up i had amost all consoles on Release (since atari up to N64)had super smash bro tournaments with my friends and would fill up a Net cafe with SC players . also gaming is more accessible since most of the games are pirated and sold for like 2 dollars lol there are actual little stores where you buy pirated games only in the malls.

your wife simple dosent like gaming but dont blame the country for it. :P

Things got a little messy when my daughter came along. It settled down several months later after we silently sorted out the tasks to do between the two of us. E.g. I do the bottles and cooking, she does the baby showering...etc

My wife doesn't game but she will watch TV drama if given the chance to.

I used to play FFXI for almost 5 years and gave up so I can pursue a career. I was single at the time.

Now, I play usually 3 days during the week, from 8-11 pm. Weekends are on and off, depending on how much work I get done around the house.

A few people mentioned it, the most important thing is let your family know you they come first. Try and schedule your play time, because if you don't, they can't schedule their family time with you and they feel left out.

If you manage to find a way to do it all, it will work out. Also, as someone mentioned this as well, you are not out there partying and cheating on your woman, you are in the basement glued to a computer trying to kill a NM

Balance is key, even though you can play 24/24 and not get bored.
Congrats on #3 by the way. I completely agree with your statement. I believe in moderation in all things. Even good things in extreme amounts can be bad. Family has to come first. Causing hurt feelings in your RL isn't worth some item or quest you gain in a fictious world. (although boy do we love that world!)
