Then says all you need is a ton of Gil for mats, or if you want to save Gil, be an omnicrafter and omnigatherer and get all of the materials on their own a month after the expansion hits.

Actually, I said prices on mats are inflated right now. Then gave you ways to save gil on those mat costs. Example: I bought a couple stacks of aurum regis sand, birch lumber. The other materials are trivial. I quick synthed the nuggets and the lumber. Made some 10 scrip items and sold 1 HQ that paid for the entire process. If, I had bought the lumber and nuggets, my costs would have been way more then the cost of selling one HQ rod. I also converted and sold my crp tools as t4 materia is 200k~ and sells nicely. The same mats I used to remake them pretty much anyways. I then sold remaining mats for profit to pay for all the crystals I had used. Being an Omni-crafter saved me tons of gil and I actually came out ahead.

Now, if I had not been lazy or short on time, I could have gathered those mats. Simple items like those only take about 15 minutes to get a stack. I could have also just done leve, as they now give those mats as well.
