Quick update! Thanks for letting me vent and not being a jerk about it to the people that were cool out there. On the subject of it being ironic that I'm complaining about getting gouged while using a mac.. grow up and use a mac once (if you can afford it) and you'll realize you're paying for the op sys that doesn't cost anything for upgrades after the initial purchase and doesn't crash like a blind marmot driving magitek armor. P.S I am going to continue to playing on my PC because I like the game too much. Peace!

I've used mac's many times. I don't see the point to your argument. I believe what you are implying is that everyone should eventually own a mac (even though it's a ridiculously overpriced linux box), even though they the os isn't compatible with a lot of software out there that is commonly used.

I like coding on my mac, but saying people can't afford a mac and it will blow them away when they buy one is a rude, ignorant and completely false statement.

Honestly the point of the thread was that I was upset that I would have to buy the same client over again for the "luxary" of playing a game that is paid for on a monthly basis.

I'm not implying that anyone buy anything they don't want and frankly putting words in my mouth is pretty rude as well. Also it's not an "overpriced linux box" box. Mac OS was built on unix but it has been proprietary code since its inception therefore not linux at all. I like it because it just works.

Also you can get any software you need on a Mac other than games.

Mac major updates to OS are around $30.

Windows 10 is now adopting that same principle. They first purchase will be normal (around $180) and then probably arouind $30-40 for a major update. As to the crashing, I've been using Windows since 3.11. Windows 95 ran grea, 98 ran great, ME was a joke. Windows XP was very stable, Windows 2000 was better. Vista was another joke, but 7 made it the most stable I've used. 8 and 8.1, stable but not a great update. 10 (even the pre release version that I am currently running) is stable and a solid OS. I have also worked on Mac's in the past. They are just as stable as Windows (ie. they have their crashes too). The most unstable I've run in the past was Ubuntu Linux (about 20 years ago) and that was mostly because I was inexperienced on how to setup linux. Now it runs just as well as the other two.

People hear Windows and instantly think it crashes every hour. These people either A) have no clue what they are spouting, or B) have a computer with dying hardware that makes windows crash often.

I moved to Mac at the start of the Vista-ear as I was bored of baby sitting windows boxes. My box at the time was a couple of years old and dying to the extent that getting more than 30 minutes out of it was impressive. So I ditched it for something I wouldn't have to endure all that with.

I've been in Dev for 10 years, and I've been exclusively using Macs both at home and work. Several of my companies have been exclusively Mac shops too, so I've no interest in moving back. I can't deny that Windows has improved in recent years, which is great. But I'm too into the whole Apple ecosystem to want to move back.

I could go out and buy a top end gaming rig if I wanted to, but I don't. Equally I could run Boot Camp, but I don't want to do that either. Hence I was playing on my PS4 instead, but was pretty keen for a native Mac Client when I heard one was being made.
