You play Bard for 2 years and then have a mobile playstyle ripped from underneath you with 1.5 sec cast time on every ability you use.

It is horrendous, the entire playstyle changed. It is terrible and a sheer grief.

On the more mechanics end of things, ignoring how terrible it is to break the design of Bards: It doesn't even work with their kit because Bard's rely on weaving 0gcd abilities in their priority "rotation" and those proc at random times. You lose a lot of 0gcds in that "miniscule" amount of time. Bloodletter procs are a huge non-trivial deal for one example. It holds the Bard back from utilizing their full potential because the cast times do not let them weave a 0gcd in during the cast time.

Umm... only if you were a hyperactive bunny. The rest of us were standing still most of the fight right next to the BLMs (unless there was a lot of targeted AoE of course, then we stood far away from each other).

The 1.5s cast time doesn't actually take away even an ounce of mobility. This is a false claim by your "side". The cast time for ws is so short, that if you start the attack just before most ground AoEs appear, you can let the bar complete and still get out of the AoE in time.

This here is probably the only thing that still bugs me about Wanderer's Minuet since they improved it. A lot of my concerns were addressed, but the 'instant' casts and ability use continue to be a minor issue. Using those skills with a cast time is a lot less fun since it inevitably eats into the time you could be dealing damage.

This is true for Black Mage's too, since the cast time matches the recast, so you're often forced to use abilities at times when you could otherwise just attack. I've taken to relying on instant skill procs (eg. Straighter Shot) before using abilities, since it reduces the amount of time I'm not attacking.

Still, to be fair this annoyance is very minor and I'm getting used to Minuet. it's a massive improvement over the old version, since it now genuinely does improve DPS overall (the odd interrupt notwithstanding), whereas before I was actually losing around 70 dps instead. I feel it's got a ways to go before being fully accepted though. It's not fun to play the job in a specific way only to have the rug pulled under you, and the entire endgame turned on its head.
