What 1.0 did is teach us that a game cannot subsist on pretty graphics alone. Thanks Obama!

The game tries to teach, but it still leaves people hanging without an idea on what to do. Imagine a game where , via some pear symbol that showed up, killed your character unless they did the Konami code. And it doesn't tell you this, it just shows the pear marker and kills you in 8 seconds.
In oyher games this would be bad design. But in a mmoprg, that is a mmorpg mechanic. I do think there are points where it goes too far and either a tooltip or in game notebook for enemy moves could help to facilitate the player figuring out how to apply their role.

It looks like you might want to research Final Fantasy "lol".
Have you any clue what the elementals are? you know elemental strenghts weaknesses? What happens when you cast fire on a creature that is of the fire element, or for that matter what happens when you cast fire on a creature weak to it. just an example, i mean you did research Final Fantasy right?
Final Fantasy XIV is and it isnt final fantasy based on its franchise. Its final fantasy in its title, the skin the game is presented in is Final Fantasy. And the story is done well as most Final Fantasy games are.
But the game model, the content you find within the game is not based on the Final Fantasy franchise. Its based on modern mmo's ((MSO) massively single player online), the most popular one World of Warcraft. The game most companies based their modern mmo on, due to its huge success. Alot of subscribers doesnt mean the game was great just accessible and fun, for a while. Problem with the model is the content type in it is all the same repeated and reskined to be new.
The issue what is the issue, if you like that then thats great. What is annoying is how you and your kind. Are so against different content types being added to the game, without taking away from you the stuff you enjoy. Just > adding <, but then there would be content you dont like and you would be up in arms.
FF14's graphic is expiring...
I bought a GTX680 for 2.0, which was the best level of graphic card I've ever bought, but 2.0's "graphic" sucked and the investment was completely wasted, should've bought a mainstream card like 660 which is more than enough for 2.0, and even 3.0 now
drop PS3 support and put forth an open world map with HD texture and other performance killing graphic options, bring back 1.0's character customization, and the game will probably succeed wow
as it stands now, the game is on track to become another FF11
but evidences indicate that another FF11 is all SE has hoped for anyway, so let's just wait and see whether FF14 will ever get pass 1m subscription mark...
Alright... I want to end this idea that FFXIV V1.0 looked or played any better than V2.0 does. Seeing as how V1.0 really can't be played anymore, I have to be a lot more selective...
Let's kill two birds with one stone and also address Miqo'te butts
V1.0 DX9 Maximum settings
V3.0 DX10 Maximum Settings
V3.0 DX9 Maximum Settings
Of note:
Hair styles and Eye colors are not directly transferable between V1.0 and V2.0. For the purpose of staging the screenshots I want you to look at the outfit, because it's the same outfit.
Also when you zoom in:
V1.0 DX9
V3.0 DX10

V1.0 looked better then V2.0. Maybe your computer wasnt able to handle V1.0 and thats why you never got to experience and see that, and im sorry that you didnt.
V2.0 characters proportions have been simplified, to make armor scaling simpler and easier to do. Even though alot of armor on certain races gender look misplaced due to spacing issues. So keep on convincing yourself that 2.0 looks so amazing and 1.0 didnt, it will still be wrong.
Again, the only things 1.0 did better were textures and character animation (and a small number of assets, but the difference here is too small to even be worth noting). Everything else was better in 2.0 and indisputably better in 3.0.V1.0 looked better then V2.0. If only they'd give us a high-res texture pack and give us back some of those sweet running animations, this silly debate could finally be put to rest...
When you say everything you mean what exactly, the combat? the content? you do understand that all the content related to combat is rinse repeat repeat in 2.0 and 3.0 and will forever be the same. And the superior content Fates hunts quests ? those are all quests, fates are quests in the same way as optional quests in swtor, active events in gw2, rifts in well rift. They are quests automaticly accepted and auto completed when done. Hunts are fates without the icon. Superior content yes so superior.Again, the only things 1.0 did better were textures and character animation (and a small number of assets, but the difference here is too small to even be worth noting). You know there are many games that has this "Superior" "Varied" "Exciting" "thoughtful" content, Wow, Aion, Swtor, Gw2, FFXIV Yoshida edition and so on.
But hey its flashy, there are so much content with different names (even though its all based on the same content type mechanic). And dont forget the instances so many instances eventhough they are all just fundementaly the same, they are instanced content. So thankfully 2.0 brought with it a revamped world that is used for crickets and tumbleweed, not entierly true woops there is the players that love doing fates over and over and over. But very few of them will talk to you i guess bots dont carry a conversation.

we had racial animations too for combat which was really cool, now its all copy pasta. We got some cool stuff but the character of the races is gone in combat now.
Mine you I like 2.0 and beyond much better as a game, but as far as animations go, there is a lot I miss.
