Yda - did she really contribute anything? Her dumb-blonde vibes just pissed me off (or maybe it was the English voice acting)

Even in the fighting game parody video (non-canon and exagerated, of course), every Scion helped out with Yda's finisher and Minfillia did nothing but hijack the victory pose. Without playing 1.0 she just doesn't seem to have much development or point besides a general quest-giving or intermediary. She gets in touch with the GC leaders but, at the end, it's still the PC meeting them, later in the game it's Alphinaud growing into the mediator role. The fact that we're doing perfectly fine without her but miss the expertise of the other Scions, it's telling.

If I could actually kill off one of them....it'd have to be Minfailure. If I could have two I'd take out Y'shtola too. Her haughty attitude annoys me. And yeah, that's pretty much the only reason I want rid of her. Normally I can forgive such prickly attitudes, but Y'shtola seems to have in that specific flavour that rubs me the wrong way.

I can't honestly name a Scion I'd like to see removed right now, because we have no idea how, if at all, they'll have changed since the events of Ul'dah. There's been a subtle change in Y'shtola, for example, wherein she's coming off much more wise than snarky before, no doubt due to her experience in the Lifestream. She's still got plenty of snark, but she's showing a lot more wisdom than that now, and it's quite endearing.

If we're talking about Pre-Ul'dah events, I'd probably say Yda. She always seemed the least... Scion of the Scions. More of an airhead than a Sharlayan Archon.

After Alphinaud comes into his own as a diplomat she's pretty superfluous aside from her sex appeal, which the Scions never capitalized on with something like cheesecake recruitment posters for the Crystal Braves.

I never played 1.0, but she strikes me as a replacement for Louisoix in the same way that, for several years, Lor'themar was just a replacement for Kael'thas. Despite how much screentime Minfilia gets, she doesn't really seem to develop that much as a character. It's something subtle as well. She's very... predictable. Someone dies? She gets sad, mentions how they have to move on. Having a bad day? Lean on the Warrior of Light. She rarely seems to make decisions either. It's mostly...
