How do you deal with sluggish tanks?

I don't know what's their problem. like 80% of the tanks I met are super slow and keep wasting time before each pull, then waste another minute standing infront of the boss. sometimes 3 minutes if it's the last boss. always waste time until my buffs disappear.

these slow paced tanks are so annoying. and the ready check is annoying too.

I don't necessarily agree with ready checks being annoying but certainly standing in front of bosses for 30+ seconds doing nothing has always annoyed me in all MMO's and I just don't understand what they can be doing. Are they just timid? Unfortunately, tanking requires someone who is confident and can take charge and not everyone has that personality type.

Tanks really only control the downtime pace.

Dps control the uptime pace because they're really the ones killing stuff.

Tanks aren't controlling how fast I kill stuff, just how fast they pull said stuff. I just don't like the downtime. Sometimes reasons are pretty legit, but a lot of the cooldown aren't really needed for dungeons.

Also, I never really understood why everyone assumes tanks have to be the leader. Anyone is capable of doing it honestly. Just because the tank's job is to take a beating doesn't mean they have to be the leader.

Edit: I actually find it more annoying when tanks pull when I'm not ready.

Word leader like 2 side of coin :
1. "Group" (like raid group) leader can be any job , because his job tell/assign what other ppl's should/have to do (and play his ingame "job" too of course ;P)
2. "Leading the Way" thru dungeon (or raid no matter) is what i assume most ppl's meaning by call tank leader , can be performed only by player on Tank job because..... any dps or healer more likely will die when they encounter trash mobs or boss (etc.)

LOL leave it to someone like you take what I said the wrong way. I deal with it because I do not try to boss a tank around. I don't give a damn how a tank pulls, just don't pull more than you can handle. I've tanked a lot myself. And I have heard stories from other tanks on them being kicked because they wouldn't pull the way the others wanted them too. I hate speed running, it is exactly why I gave up WAR at 59. And once again, no tanks do not always set the pace. You can argue with me about that til your blue in the face. Group with me though and yes you do set the pace. For any other group out there with 3 others that are holier than thou, good luck. Leaving doesn't mean anything either.

exactly, i hate those sluggish tanks, most tanks i got in DF are either extremely undergeared or pulling every pack one by another, sometimes i asked them to pull more, but than again i dont want them to pull the four bees in neverreap cuz i dont think they cud manage that shit, some of them replied me that they dont know if they cud handle more adds with their low level gears, but honestly we ran with i150~i160> gears when heavensward just released and we even pulled more than that...


so at the end i just give up bothering with that, and que expert as a tank myself and NEVER STOP pressing forward, and being like "OH YOU WANT TO REST? HOW ABOUT GOT OUT OF THE DUNGEON?", "DON'T YOU FRIGGIN STOP MOVING AND BETTER CATCH UP WITH ME SOLDIERS!" etc etc

it solves the problem perfectly
