Please have a look at this video:Here's the problem with these threads..you people (bards) are always jumping around running around shooting your arrows and never sitting still. This annoys me. You'd never see an archer do that (fantasy game or not). I think this is a good thing having your asses planted to the ground in order to fire your arrows efficiently instead of jumping around like you're all on PCP.

This! Wow! That's some serious epic skill :OPlease have a look at this video:

But like the person above me, I dont move unless its necessary. Even so, I still enjoy and employ that freedom when I must.
While I have no problem being a caster it just doesnt feel like it fits the image of Bard that we've come to know and love. I mean, even in the original opening CG video for ARR, our signature bard runs and jumps in from above bows blazing!

I'm not saying Lars isn't unimpressive... but come on. You can link a video, I can link a video.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME

This video is more about some of the claims Lars made, which were factually incorrect. If you watch the video fully, it even goes into further detail about the many different types of archery, including comparing war archery (where more powerful bows were used) versus hunting archery where the bows had less of a draw weight and were thus able to be fired faster.
Again though, if we all wanted realism we wouldn't be playing a game with 'Fantasy' in the title.

I have to say that when I heard we would be charging our attacks I envisioned the way archers in TERA charge up their attacks to make them more powerful by keeping the button pressed down til either it hits its max potency or you decide you don't need that much power in the shot, not being forced into a caster role. I have to say that TERA's archer is far superior now. When they buffed archer and a few other classes in that game while I played, they BUFFED them, they didn't say well you get this buff but you have to be in this role now. They made the job more viable by making them hit harder which pleased the player base 100%. This is what SE should do. Not piss us off by doing what they have done. The devs for TERA never nerfed to buff or gave restrictions, dps were free to play the style they liked and still do great dps numbers.
Let's not forget horse archers! Please have a look at this video:

Moving while firing arrows, even moving at the speed of a horse, is quite historically accurate. Steppe tribes in the ancient world actually specialized in that kind of fighting and were quite deadly, some even being able to fire at enemies to the rear (look up Parthian Shot).
Okay I had a look at that video. Just seemed like a hater. If anyone is interested, this was the official response to his criticism:Please have a look at this video:

Combat while mounted would be cool huh? Too bad it's not part of the game, would make for some interesting fights.Let's not forget horse archers!
