And im sorry for that snarky comment above i was without coffee buff. The first Dungeons gave near to nothing. I even noted my XP before and after because i thought i was bugged and didn't get anything. If the last 2 spit out decent amount then im happy as a Tank.
The first few dungeons I didn't really think about the XP yet because I didn't hit the XP gate until level 55. Playing normally as the MSQ goes without doing much extra got me to 55 on the first day of early access so yeah. By then you should be doing The Vault which gives nice XP and gear and from there onwards, the dungeon XP are pretty good so there isn't any reason for me to crawl on foot to do sidequests/FATEs/levequests.

Does anyone else remember back in FFXI when it would take a full day just to gain 1 level and this was back at level 15? Sigh... I miss the Hardcore Grinding of some mmos sometimes, Since it allowed people to get to know other players and talk and have fun. Now it's all about rush to max level and not make new friends along the way.

Dungeons are also worth a crapload, and with Armoury Bonus dungeons will be worth 10-15% xp per run. It will take a bit, but it's going to end up being about the same as 50-60 with MSQ/Side story was.
Even with the math done on an armory bonus, FATE XP seems...really low.

Guess they just want you to work for it. At least it's good to be an arcanist on my main.

This is one of the very few things I don't like in Heavensward. YOu can get 51 no problem, but after that it's always 5 main quests, plus ten hours of xp grind to unlock the next gate. Leveling the other 12 jobs will be a huge pain.

You literally cannot level to 60 purely by sidequests. I needed to do about 3 extra dungeon runs (and yes, I was using food), plus two days worth of hunts, all the exploration exp and a few sightseeing logs here and there. And this is including all the sidequests in the final zone.

The daily roulette bonus, challenge logs exist and give EXP that can be used to your advantage.

This is a recurring theme in FFXIV: it's more efficient to do something by doing little chunks of it over many days or even months. If you're looking to rush your second level 60 job in a week, then the answer is "deal with it". But if you do the daily roulettes and set aside the challenge log EXP properly, you won't feel any grind at all.

If you want quick 60s yet can't deal with the concentrated grind, then you're just not up to it, and the daily and weekly EXP bonuses described above are exactly what has been done to relief you of the grind.

Next month half of these people will be complaining about not having anything to do and that they need more content. The age of give me everything now.

Can't agree with that. In ARR you always filled you bar somewhat halfway later like 30% with a Dungeon run, yes first character. maybe i have a twarted experience because i started playing arr when 2.55 was long released and the exp in dungeons from 2.0 arr was same as we see them now in heavensward and im just spoiled from a finetuned arr

Sometimes I miss that, too. I made some great friends that way (who I still keep in touch with, 6 years after leaving FFXI).

I don't miss the grind though. So many crabs...
