30s insta cast, 100 potency, 2s stun must be 10 yalms away to use. Does that sound similar I must confess I've never read the shoulder tackle tooltip before now.

Seeing the other skills from classes and their changes, I gotta say I'm pretty underwhelmed with the monk ones, a lot of these new monk skills aren't going to be really used unless the end game fights are like 2.0 primals, in retrospective on final coil of bahamut there's very very little instances you are gonna use chakra, except for example Teraflare, there's also pretty few instances once you learn the fight where you'll loose grease lightning which are mainly phase changes. Now that people is posting around the skills from garland tools, I'm pretty dissapointed, because anyone actually adept at the class din't have much problems with what they are trying to address.
Dungeons looks better now, and primal style fights, but from the endgame standpoint this is dissapointing, in the sense of novelty and doing something new with your rotation, monk might be strong with the crit buff and skill speed buff, but that's a passive improvement, and not a gameplay change or improvement as the one ninja, summoner and dragoon recieved, as dragoon changed drastically.
Still the same old skill T_T
Now i wonder why they list Shoulder Tackle in skill change along with Featherfoot and Demolish...
on the upside, all we have to do is add Elixir Field to the Howling Fist macro, and... map a button to stack Chakra and a button to burn it.![]()
Failed to see this:
Combo Action: Syphon Strike Combo Potency: 280
Combo Bonus: Reduces target's INT by 10%
Duration: 20s
Effect does not stack with Dragon Kick.
This made me even more sad, because support wise, monk doesn't bring much compared to what dragoon does now, dragoon increased piercing damage for either bard or machinist, and an AoE crit buff, mantra isn't that much of a increase and more of like a useless supporting hand, because any good healer isn't really going to depend on mantra.
which class has syphon strike?
Not only is DRGs(example) changes a lot more interesting, they're getting added damage to jumps, 2 more combo attacks doing high potency, another crit buff(affecting others too) and another oGCD attack... How is that not a bigger increase in DPS than MNK? and they're already pretty much on par with DPS...Seeing the other skills from classes and their changes, I gotta say I'm pretty underwhelmed with the monk ones, a lot of these new monk skills aren't going to be really used unless the end game fights are like 2.0 primals, in retrospective on final coil of bahamut there's very very little instances you are gonna use chakra, except for example Teraflare, there's also pretty few instances once you learn the fight where you'll loose grease lightning which are mainly phase changes. They nerfed featherfoot by 5% total

That's not accounting for possible skill speed reduction on the GCD of the ability. If it is affected by GL and SS it puts it closer to 1s GCD. Factor this into stacks you will get from when random mechanics happen outside of full on jumps. What I am getting at is that I don't think Forbidden Chakra is going to be something that's only used once. Will have to see about that... that's 7.5 seconds of no attacking if you use it 5 times during your normal rotation. Using a couple of times during rotation maybe, but all 5 stacks sounds like it would be a DPS loss in total. 320 potency is high for MNK, but not extremely high by any means... Especially in 3.0 when many jobs are getting increased damage.
This is even more of a problem when you consider that Purification would use those 5 stacks without giving any damage at all, which seems more likely now with what we know of Forbidden Chakra tooltip
