Pretty sure you still get boss chest items, it's only the stuff like diremite sinew, ochuu vines etc that won't drop. As for xp and helping out friends I think it's mostly meant as a way to help them get through required story dungeons and such.

Players will still receive treasure rewards, first time completion bonuses, and experience points upon completion of duty when using this option. However, players will not receive experience points or items from enemies that appear prior to boss encounters. Spirit bond and soul resonance cannot be gained when using this option.

While I love all the new stuff coming out, I still have to ask. Why aren't we getting the new GC Ranks? I'm going to be stuck at 2nd lieutenant for the rest of my Lala life. You can even see the full list of ranks in the game currently, I don't understand why we wouldn't be able to advance them in this expansion possibly after you smooth things over during the Main Quest Line. Also leaves me to wonder if new gear will be added to the current GC Rank (aside from the obvious new job gear), such as for level 51-60.

It's not even anything important, but it makes me very happy :3
No more getting useless loot on the faint hope it might look good on me instead of some nice money xD
