That...seems a bit lopsided to have to juggle so many roles. Do others in ones set have to have the same flexibility?

This may have been discussed before, but I'm interested to see how the new PB opener for Monk would look like. Thinking something along the line of:
Ready Coeurl form w/- Move Form x3 + 5 stacks of Chakra before fight, then go Shoulder Tackle - Demo - PB - Snap - Snap (Tornado Kick) Snap - Snap - Demo (PB is off here) Forbidden Chakra (not sure if this is oGCD or not, I'm assuming it is on GCD) - TOD...and proceed with normal rotations, i.e. Bootshine - Twin Snake etc.
You can also still weave in other oGCDs (B4B, IR, HF, Steel Peak) and STR / Poison pots as before.
It was pointed out that the above may need further investigation, as DK and Twin Snake won't be able to be fitted while PB is active, and thus delaying their applications causing a dps loss. Although, the massive damage from Tornado Kick surely would compensate this, and we'd still come out of PB with GL3.
Any thought from the MNK masters?![]()
Its not too bad - I can already keep up with the players on the top of our leaderboards. The only issue presents itself when playstyles change, so basically when you play a BLM vs anything else where its no long DoT everything.
I'm not convinced using Tornado kick in the opener is worth it tbh, since it delays Twin Snakes/Dragon Kick/etc.
I dont think it'll change much for now, but I'll experiment when i get to levelling it - probably going to be second.
Yep yep, thus the further investigation bit.
It's just MNK never had hi-dmg abilities before, and soon we'll get two with TKick and FChakra, even 3 with Elixir Drive(!).
If the Chakra stacks do not expire until used, the FChakra in the opener suggested above can be moved until after DK and Twin have been applied, so saving 1GCD there (would be even more awesome if it's offGCD).

i mentioned a similar thing way back when we first got details on the tornado kick, my concern with this opener however is
1) tornado kick has to be off GCD, whic the more i think about it, it shouldnt be
2) fitting that many low GL hits into PB will become difficult/impossible depending on skill speed
that being said, if my above concerns turn out to be nothing to worry about, i'de imagine starting the fight in opo-opo and using dragon kick > twin snakes > demo, then the PB part would be better, but i'll run the actual numbers when we get a few more details on the skills, so probably at patch notes reading.
also, given the details we know about forbidden chakra, it should be off GCD as it has a CD
Ok as much as I love to use TK during PB, that defeats the purpose of the use of PB, since it's primary use is to gain stack. So why use TK and start with O stacks all over again. I think TK will be one of those situational WS as an ender move or right before the boss disappear. I think FC have a better spot within the PB opener TK.
Also, I believe that TK and the DRG new mechanics gives the torch of LB over to MNK.
If you ever need to LB, just use TK before it, since DRG will be busy keeping their bloody thing up, and PB right after to build back up :v
Edit: actually TK seems like a lot of fun...
Need to handle a mechanic? TK that thing before moving away
About to be Gaoled? TK Titan's arse
Seeing your life pass before your eyes? TK till your last breath!
The BRD is kiting the things? TK its butt to stay in place!!
And the list goes on and on...
