I find it interesting how the same ppl who attacked me for my opinion are the same ppl claiming they want "equality" in a video game. And I will repeat myself, this is not the first game to have gender locks and will NOT be the last. Get over it or don't play this GAME. "This day and age" is not a valid reason for a developer to changed the established points of video games that sell. This fad of no gender or 50 different sexualities only sprouted in the last couple yeas if even that.

Ok, first and foremost someone should NOT completely quit simply because they dislike one aspect of the game. People should be encouraged to post new ideas, not silently leave. That's how devs see what their playerbase wants in the first place so they can update their ever-changing MMO.I find it interesting how the same ppl who attacked me for my opinion are the same ppl claiming they want "equality" in a video game. Secondly, just because other games have gender-locks, that doesn't mean this one can't break out of the crowd and experiment with new things. Game developers need to take certain risks with their games if they want their games to stand out from the rest and draw more people in.
Lastly, what makes you assume it's a fad...? Especially when your only argument for this is that it's a new concept. You can say any new addition to the game that is innovative is simply a fad then.
Also what's this about different sexualities? What in the world are you even going on about with that?
Oh and your first two sentences make no sense. You're clearly against equality, at least gear-wise and yet people are hypocritical if they want equality. ...I hope you're trolling for your own sake lol. But honestly, people say the silliest things when they're mad and act out emotionally.

The reason people are upset is because gender locks are primarily put in place against male characters, whereas females enjoy a wider variety. There is no male-exclusive equipment that does not have a female-exclusive equivalent, but there is a bunch of female-exclusive equipment that does not have a male-exclusive equivalent. This rift between how one part of the paying customerbase gets access to more content than the other is the entire "equality" argument. We feel that people with male characters are being treated as the lesser group, as female characters get equipment catered specifically to them, and male characters do not, or in much smaller quantities. This started as early as sailor equipment versus spring dress gear.
Point.
But I was driving at the point that you've basically given the basic alternatives that would differentiate the two gender versions of the outfit - a straight up fitted version, a minimal cloth version, and a just jewelry on the upper body version - so the only other real variant on the outfit left is a "nothing on the upper body" (which is basically the "Emperor's New Clothes" option).

This was the only fem looking outfit (and personally i don't think anyone would look good in it)
most of the others are of boys. boys and girls look quite alike a young age, which is why it's difficult to even tell if some of these are boy or girl.
this is what ppl wore in the 80s, that doesn't mean it looks good, or should be popular today, or in XIV.
Maybe new hairstyle for your DRK, cause it was fashionable...long ago...

While translation is a large part of our job, what is not known by many is that the EN localization team plays a large role in the creation of a lot of in-game terminology and lore which is then localized back into Japanese (with liberties often taken by the Japanese team so that the text might appear more appealing to their target Japanese audience).
Well, in the case of the very slim chance that SE decide to take note of this thread... I'm gonna show that i do NOT support this. Those pictures just look like complete train wrecks.
This is getting better and better! I can see where you are going and I can also see why you are not entirely happy with it but that is part of the creative process! Still, this looks amazing and I would wear it without a hint of doubt

What bothers me the most in this thread is not the complete lack of respect from younger and close-minded players(that is to be expected) but the lack of respect from the mod team. It is as if they do not take this thread seriously or try to avoid conflict by replying, probably ordered by their boss to ignore it till it goes away. A mod is probably reading this from the shadows though so I make a request to him personally... At least request to the dev team to make the dress unisex if you are not comfortable with supporting the whole idea.
This is a serious thread with a lot of support despite the many posts stating otherwise(obviously a sensitive subject to many uncomfortable players) and it shouldn't be ignored like this...
