I'm pretty sure not every Japanese person wants tankini sets. SE's had an alright track record with this and FFXIV, minus a few hiccups, and we're hoping it doesn't stop. It's about building a semi-immersive world, if the guys are wearing big hulking armor, why are the girl's wearing stuff that shows off their breasts? I mean, I'm sure if you nose dive into the dragon making yourself as narrow as possible, you'll probably slip right in without issue, but I recall some of them being snatched out of the air in a less seemingly planned manor (IE their head, arms, and legs were outside the mouth). You really don't want to risk accidentally getting teeth to the gut then, which the belly hole seems to make a whole lot easier. Like what Lewtskie said maybe it's intentional to they cut the beast up while slipping down in?
