There exists doesn't really mean much, imo. For either direction. It seems to be a popular response, mainly on the why to have, but I suppose it could be the either way. There exists skimpy costumes (or one gendered) does not mean there should or should not be more, as much as it just means there has been. It doesn't change people's feelings if they dislike that sort of thing already. "I don't like pink for this case, please keep this red as the male version" "there exists pink female costumes - your concern is silly, besides I like pink costumes", at least the first part of the rebuttal means little and second part just a differing opinion.
Also I'm not sure why the gear that is most protective appears to be considered masculine, I feel like that is a sign that we've really failed to know about armor or equality/strength of females. Boob caves and body windows would never be on real armor, unless you wanted to die. I don't say that to mean showing more of the female body doesn't exaggerate them being "female", but that female armor would lack both of these qualities and appear very similar to male armor.Certainly this game is not purely based on real life rules but there are purposes and lines to reality, affirmed by the clear theme of tank's generally more visually protective armor being more protective statistically. A few armors may have features specific for the males, just as extra visual decoration, but females wearing armor as armor then should not be called females in masculine armor... Regarding armor as armor the request for feminine armor is just the same as requesting armor for males. Rather should say I want "un-armor" lol, or "sexy costume armor".
SE mostly has equal opportunity bad "realistic" decisions, costumes with themes, generally. Which is the best sort of "costume" armor. However, armor changes like Dragoon's armor will always make me shake my head, on a different level. Women should be able to wear armor known as 'armor', and it should stop being called male armor - that's silly. Women should be able to look fierce and strong like a male may appear, be an impervious boss steamroller, and while it isn't my personal preference if there is to be sexy armor then men should be able to look fabulously sexy too - in a similar way. To have them seperate, especially when one is in closer form to what someone would reasonably wear and the other one is just shy of calling for seppuku. . Orz. Equal opportunity Mijin Gakure, that's all.
Out of the consistency they've made so far with tank armors (the most "armor" of armors), the feedback made for Dragoon's AF1 and that AF2 doesn't have the window, I feel fairly confident they won't make one side look like they were a few straps missing and a few screws loose compared their counterpart. Also knowing SE I can't imagine them not making some sexy time armor in the future for both genders, they can't help themselves.
