Outside of gender equality (won't get on it), why would men want to look like women? You can just purchase a fantasia if you want to look the part. This particular dress wouldn't match male physiology anyways and looks foolish.

And I'm gonna repeat myself here: it's not a product made to be restricted for the Japanese audience/market. Also - yeah, and cartoons like Tom&Jerry were (and are) also made by real life people. So what? Does not automatically equate to any sort of realism, because it's not an expectation.
While it would be nice to have the same outfits available for both males and females, I think the point is more the fact that the same number of outfits are not available for males and females. Because the gender restriction is apparently a one-way street, just like in the case of (low level) DoM and DoW gear. What if they don't feel comfortable about it? You can't push your views on everyone else you guys.
They have yet to make a statement about this, at all...because they know it'll be treading on the grounds of hell.
Like I said and another person here said; the response would most likely be, "Make a female character if you wish to wear their clothes."
Nice, there's that as well, indeed.Except for you know...the Japanese players are upset too

You could just as well ask why would women want to look like men. The answer is options. People just want the same amount of options for exclusive and unique glamours available to both genders. It's completely unfair for females to have glamours that are exclusive to them, but for males to have to share almost all of theirs with females.
I said outside of gender equality to fight against that argument. It seems like people want this into fruition not because it looks fair on them, but just for the sake of gender equality. This whole thing is absolutely silly. You could just as well ask why would women want to look like men. The answer is options. The same could be said about a player who wants his female character to wear male clothes. You can just purchase a fantasia if you want to look the part. Why are the devs caving in to the demands but are not considering the other side aswell? Why disallow male characters to wear the opposite gender clothes for comedic and/or serious purposes?

Some people just might want to look softer or smoother. It's true that most male bodies are going to be a lot more angular and heavier, and many dresses would come in heavy contrast to a typical dress, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to find something that's a good complement. And really, OP's example doesn't look bad.
Honestly, the definition of male vs female clothing has changes so much over the last 2 millennium through many cultures, that defining dress as strictly male or female seems a little arbitrary. I typically just choose what's comfortable and and what I think complements my form and features.

Someone knowledgeable in 3D design. Please enlighten me: what on earth is the difference between making a change from A to B and making that same change from B to A? Sorry, but that's felt like such hogwash to me ever since I saw it, I just can't wrap my head around this reasoning.
And now it's about watching all the videos and reading all the guides and writing a script that does the scripted fight perfectly instead of you so you can move to the next, rinse and repeat. Not the definition of "having fun with friends" either, as far as I'm concerned.
That said, RMT is indeed another major issue, one other about which it behooves them to do nothing and say nothing. (Except it really isn't, because the pot keeps bubbling more and more as time goes on... And yes, they periodically report about accounts banned, but it's a fact that we don't experience any effect of that.)
Again, I'd reiterate: crossdressing comes into the picture sort of as a side effect - of the fact that the number of male and female specific outfits has lately been increasing on one side only. I do believe this is the main issue.

It may just be a petty excuse, because the devs/whoever else has a say in such things doesn't want it added for whatever reason, that isn't as easily marketable. It's always easier to say "Oh, we can't do it because restrictions/limits of our development tool.".Someone knowledgeable in 3D design. Because all male characters you see in this game are actually men in real life. And all straight men too of course. /duh
My character is not a representation of myself but of what I like, and if I want to dress him up with make up, short shorts and high heels for my own enjoyment then he's going to wear it and no one should be concern about why or what my avatar is wearing or looking like.
As I said in another post I am personally not comfortable playing with a female character in this game, and I shouldn't have to be forced to spend money and change my avatar just to be allowed to wear something I like while others have no such restrictions.
And to those talking about the norm in our world, please rethink for a second that this is a video game set in a fantastic medieval universe with dragons, giant chickens, where people can dress as a snowman or in their under-wears freely and 'bound' with anyone of their choice. So idk, can you run around in public almost naked and have a same sex 'wedding' in every country? As far as I know I don't think that's the case.
Men already had access to a few dresses, skirts and revealing clothing and it didn't bother the devs to create those back then.
What is not normal is that all gear can be worn by a gender but not by the other. What's next, certain races getting bonus glamour gear? Because this is exactly what it feels like if you choose to play with a male character. There is no reason for this preference when all players pay the same price.
