Yes but that's with any game, however since player's can form their own alliances this is can be easily avoided, unless you pug the rest.
OP is just mad he can't hide his scrubness behind 23 other players. #forevercarried
Basically, he left the game because the 'best' is not available in content where he can hide how generally bad he is behind the talent of other players and then force them to give up their hard earned loot. The weekly lockout probably would've done it if the fact that the best of the best is only available to those who can output enough in 8 man raiding content. Which he obviously cannot, so instead he staged a hacking attempt at Cape Westwind of all places and used that as his excuse to exit stage left.
It would be best if we merely let this entire thing fade into obscurity and laugh about it when people bring it up instead of giving this guy the satisfaction of leaving any kind of lasting impression.
8 man raids are more difficult than 24 man raids, people who think otherwise have not done a significant amount of both. The reason why is because in 24 man raids, your mistakes can be made up by other players or it may not affect the raid as much as you're only 1/24 of the group. The reason why they can't make a 24 man raid as strict (as in 1 small mistake by 1 person wiping the raid) is because it would be very difficult for the developers to design and even more difficult for the players to manage. I do agree that a true end-game 24 man raid can bring a new environment into the game and thereby can make things more fun.
8 man raids are fine, I just wish they'd come up with something more original than 'dodge the aoe'.
Sounds like the OP needs to go back to WoW. I left that game because 20-man Mythic became the standard and my 10-man Heroic option (ya know, 10-man Mythic now) was obliterated going into WoD. I'm super casual now but maybe I try a static sometime in the future but as it stands, I like the 8-man only raids here. I'll try some in HW.
Super big raids just seem archaic now anyway it's a really old concept to have mass groups doing a raid and they were never all that fun in the first place. 8 is a good number for a group to try to get everyone on the same page working together. Everyone does their part and deserves their loot. In these giant raids in other games it just feels like a zerg fest you throw enough bodies and you win eventually. What i always found is there was the core group of players in the raid who did most of the work while the rest were cling ons and leechers barely doing anything most were just there because they had a friend in that core group who could get them in the raid so they can have some loot.
I don't really care much for the "it's who you know" mentality in MMO's for leechers as it is we don't need to bring all that mass raid culture over to FFXIV too.
Have you ever led a 25 man or 40 man raid before?? i am gonna guess no. It is a pain in the ass. It is difficult enough to put together 8 people who know there jobs, but 24?? yeah not happening.
You too? I've never heard of this game or guild or Neckbeard the Armor Scrub that claims to run "The Best Guild there is". Weird that this supposed FC he runs on his server with 30ish people isn't on the top 500. My two person FC on BALMUNG is in the top 300. And it's just me and occasionally my Lieutenant when she's not working. When he becomes as powerful as The Hardcore Elite-Casuals (The Current Top FC on Balmung), Order of the Blue Garter(First to clear T5 and within the first five to clear second AND final coil), or Lucrezia (The First to Clear Final Coil) THEN he can come talk.
Honestly, I know more about raiding and I literally only cleared T9 a month ago and Shiva EX Yesterday. But I'm a iLvl 128 Drg who's actually seen these raids. 24 Man is moderate difficulty to completely stupid depending on the player quality. Most end game 8 man fights I've been in were nuts on how close the victories got some times. And dang is it easy to die. Four Man content imo needs to be a little harder. (I miss the bees and OP 1st boss of Pre-Nerf Amdapoor Keep and Pharos Sirius) But Visharp was fun. I'd love to see defend & conquer 24 man content in 3.0 on an even bigger scale. THAT would be cool.
