You probably didn't get to watch the Live Letter, did you? There were more details talked about during the stream that the digest did not cover completely. It's missing a lot of small tidbits that were talked about over the stream.

Well.. I DID watch it. And I can assure you there was no mention of any new Egi skills. Doesn't mean there won't be any necessarily, but you'd think that would be a significant focus for a 'summoner' job.

More egi's isn't the answer we need now. I think what they are doing is the right thing. Is it disappointing? Sure, but this trance system is pretty snazy. Maybe we'll get more things through it.

It was lightly talked about. You had to be paying attention really closely. There were other players watching the stream who noticed it. Again, they mentioned something akin to suggesting that they would rework the summons, not anything about new skills being added to the pets. Anyway, it's too early to jump to conclusions. They've only shown and explained some of the new abilities that will be introduced during Heavensward. They talked about adjustments to older skills as well, but tried avoiding it. Protect being able to cross-class the full buff was one of them that was mentioned. So don't get your panties in a knot.

But you'd think that would be a significant focus for a 'summoner' job.
