The outrage would ring less hollow if so many people hadn't spent the better part of 2 years bitching about the egi's in every conceivable way. You have a Summon to fill all of the roles the game offers at the moment so I'm not even really sure what SMNs were hoping for. So that Leviathan would replace Garuda and Shiva could replace Ifrit and Ramuh could replace Titan? Well good news! With an glamour system, now they can!

Pet abilities were not even talked about extensively in the Live Letter. They only mentioned about adjusting them to make it so that not only one Egi gets used because it completely overshadows the others. So, please don't jump to conclusions until we get an official announcement or get the actual patch notes (which they are going to read out soon).

You probably didn't get to watch the Live Letter, did you? There were more details talked about during the stream that the digest did not cover completely. It's missing a lot of small tidbits that were talked about over the stream.

Well.. I DID watch it. And I can assure you there was no mention of any new Egi skills. Doesn't mean there won't be any necessarily, but you'd think that would be a significant focus for a 'summoner' job.
