ya it might even be something like they did with blue or with FF7 where it was all premade but it only showed what you had attached.Well, so they have to improve or change the current system.
I think its possible to make the traditional Final Fantasy battle UI a little more dynamic.
But it doesn't need to be slower, because the skills and actions are filtered then.
What about the mage spells with aoe function? I can't imagine, how they will do in future and on the PS3 gamepad since there is an extra button for jump? No, i think they want to do the same they did with aoe Cure with every spell and there is way no place to set all those skills on the bar. And if thats true, they'll have to change something.
I hope you understood that xD.
But even so... How should they revamp that skillbar? I mean, it's an MMO like others and it has to be user friendly and things. I just can't see a more user frienlier interface, unless you have one in mind that can be cool to have.
friendly is relevant i hate pressing12398759843-06234 for skills i found FF11s menu to be the best thing since sliced tarutarus so maybe a skill bar for some a menu for others

would be nice if they can change it tho. Cause i honestly cant imagine putting myself in a level of XI HNMs with a XIV UI. Too less control
I personally don't like Action Bars like what other MMOs and XIV has but I'm not all for XI either coz I haven't played it and I don't think it'll go well with XIV.
(Imagine what it'll be like If there's 3 Action Bars appearing at your screen, sure It's handy to see all of them but It'll give less space for the screen and I like to make my Screen as Clean and Organized as possible :P)
What I think/want is a new Battle UI, different from Other MMOs and not the same as XI but has that "Final Fantasy" feel in it, I know it's difficult to understand what I mean and I'm not really sure what is it nor do I have a Visual Image of it but that's what was in my mind :P

Actually, not sure if you played XI but, there were 3rd party options, while against EULA and ToS that did exactly this. It showed your cool down timers and was VERY unobtrusive to the screen unlike these UI/action bars are now. That's the one reason I wasn't a big fan when the footage was released for XIV. I wanna see ALL the beauty that is FFXIV without staring at this bar when I'm in battle. Too much crap on the screen taking away from the action occuring on screen.
Seems interesting... Tell me more =)
You would use a skillbar to select a group of skills, then go into a menu and, for example, cast magic spells or weaponskills?
That could be a little time consuming while fighting. It would work if switching from a skillbar to a menu is fast as switching from a skill to another.
Well it was for some but it worked really well for others. Remember, XI was released on a console first (PS2) so that was how it had to be done. But many people DID take advantage of the macro system as well so not too sure how the OP navigated that fast but yeah... it worked and again some people were so in tune with those menus they blew through them as fast or faster then traditional UIs.Seems interesting... Tell me more =)
