Well, Gridania ain't all sunshine and roses, even apart from the xenophobia of the wildwood elezen. For example, there's some non-selectable NPCs just outside the conjurer's guild. They're a conjurer and a Gridanian family. Like a lot of those sort of NPCs, they have dialog bubbles that pop up when you get near them. That's when you find out that the conjurer is refusing to heal their dying daughter because that's the will of the elementals...

Maelstrom all day, every day. This is entirely based on the fact that I'm a total sucker for tropical and island settings, I never get tired of Costa Del Sol.
