Favourite City/Faction and why?

For myself, it has to go to the Maelstrom/Limsa Lominsa.

Unlike Ul'dah and Gridania, where a high majority of the 'community' (npc wise) are corrupt or very cautious of outsiders, Limsa seems to welcome everyone into it's fold, and with the Admiral being a former Pirate, I find it fitting.

It depends on my character, but for my main it's:
Gridania/Twin Adders
The abundance of life in the Shrouds is a wonder, it's resilience despite the Calamity is it's pride. It was practically ground zero and they won't back down. Plus it's the home of the Conjury guild which is so far my favourite class quest tier. Supporting the Twin Adders because... Darn I love this leafy headgear...

you might find out that most, if not all, the xenophobics are wildwood elezens. It's a race culture thing. Other races in gridania seem fine to me.

My favorite city is Gridania, as it's my starting city and I like the way it's laid out and the natural feel.

However, my favorite Faction is the Maelstorm because 1) red is my favorite color 2) their hunt i100 outfits look awesome. :P

Personally I like Gridania the most but that's probably just because it was my first starting area. So it colored my first steps into the world of FF14. As with the other city-states their is a duality to them that shows up both their virtues and their vices.

Limsa. It's where I began back in beta in 2010. Every so often I can hear an exclamation on the wind, "LIMSA LOMINSA, HAHA!! A sight for me sore eyes!"

Even if said greedy merchant gleefully frames you for regicide and would be quite happy to see you rot in a cell if not have you executed outright?

Gridania for me - it was my starting city in 1.0 and I deliberately started ARR as CNJ just to go with it again in ARR as well. The whole atmosphere of the city leads me back to it every time.
