except you can't do roulette, until you cleared all the dungeons; or doesn't that apply to Main Scenario?
Main scenario roulette only requires being ungrouped and level 50.
That just how MMOs work some players are nice and some are butts. I que with fresh 50 Tanks, Heals and DPS all the time and I stay and help them get better gear threw just about everything. However if I'm Farming for my last two ponies (Levi and Ramuh greedy bastards) I will kick you if your not up to farming standards.

we managed back in the day. maybe things have gotten too easy now that everyone is in i130 gear.

This ^
If you want to play with friendly people or just want to do content with your FC, look for a FC that's willing to help and guide new players, there's a lot em around.
Sometimes you will get one or two rude players on Duty Finder and there's not much you can do, so don't fret to much about it.

As a poster before me already mentioned, if my initial comment was snarky to you, God help anyone who has genuinely offered you help.
Pretending the problem doesn't exist based on your own personal experience is a flawed basis for a counterpoint. What is wrong is being an apologist for said behaviour at Level 50.What level was this person? Where you in an endgame dungeon? Maybe it was all they had to fill the slot being new? So many things you gloss over to make your very narrow point it almost seems like your intent was to just be contrary or defend being an elitist. Either way have a good day.
I'm not about to name and shame because A) it's against forum rules and B) this isn't the OF Fail thread on BG. To answer your question, this was Brayflox Hard mode.
Is it honestly so wrong to expect a new level 50 player to know their correct primary stat and have an amount of gil from the MSQ to buy the correct/up to date i49 accessories? Is it wrong to have expected them to wear their AF over INT gear which literally does nothing for them? Is it wrong to expect someone at level 50 to know what Heavy Thrust is? What Astral Fire/Umbral Ice do? How to use Esuna?
If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then I will accept my title of "elitist" with a vast amount of pride.
This isn't about a new player not pulling insane DPS; it's about them getting into good habits that make their experience more enjoyable.

You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.

Main Scenario Roulette are only 2 dungeons anyway.
If you cleared the 2.0 mainstory (that a lv 50 player should do first before he do anything else) you can do that roulette.

dont even bother doing any dungeons until you are i90 and have a i110 weapon
I can only say that within the past few months I finished leveling my first class to 50 and moved from my level 50 artifact armor to a full ilevel 100 soldiery set over the course of a single weekend (entirely through PUG runs). At the time I had very few options available to me as far as where I could earn soldiery, and so it was quite grindy (my choice), but it was definitely doable. So, recently i made a new character on a new server, people don't seem to realise how difficult it is to now do stuff once reaching lvl50, so today i am ilvl 66, it has taken me 2-3 days to get that, from doing CT1, and a few lvl 50 dungeons, and buying stuff from MB, today during a Copper Bell HM and a Brayflox HM people dropped out multiple times because me and my fiancee (who is a paladin) could not "perform to their standards" for example, big pulls, high DPS, and not loosing aggro (A il60 Paladan vs a 110 Level synced DPS) They were vulgar, offensive and selfish. Now We like to play the new player card, get them to explain tactics and such as if we had never done it before, and this went badly.
So my main worry is, new players that come once Heavensward is released, and later, they are going to have a lot of trouble.
I'm not suggesting everyone do the same thing, but going by my experience I think someone could reasonably repeat my gains in a week or two while only playing two hours a day. To me, that doesn't seem so lengthy a time as to be concerning. We spent quite a bit of time moving through the first 50 ilevels, I don't think the next 50 have to be handed out within a day.
