DPS corner of Shame

My personal favourite was in Labyrinth of the Ancients final boss during the pads. I continuing to DPS until the last moment because I was going Elusive Jump back to the pad. At least that was plan until I executed the jump facing the wrong direction.

Titan EX on my BRD... I'd been DPSing the DPS goal under Titan's arse after that last section of the platform had been broken off (so tiny arena). I forgot that when I moved up under his rear that my character had turned to face the Goal I was DPSing. The knockback occurs, I went to run forwards to clear the ledge and start working on the healer's Goal... and ran right off, instead.
It's because I couldn't see through Titan that I had turned backwards to face the Goal behind me. D:

I derp every time I forget I'm allowed to LB, when I'm on MNK (too used to WHM or BRD that has a largely less need to LB much).

LoTA - Was at the Bone Dragon boss on BRD character... I wasn't fully paying attention because of FC chatter floating around in the chat box. Normally I don't like the chat in the middle of fights, but it's just one of those nights. I was poking the skels that appear - waiting till the tank got them to the last plate and poked.... and it just never dawned on me that I was causing them to run away from the plat forms. I ended up semi-tanking them to the lastish plates, without a single thought. After the fight, I scrolled while autorunning and my Alliance had been yelling at me the whole time -_-;;;;
"I know what you're thinking Taiga!" .....no, I doubt that, since I wasn't thinking at all. ;_; (I think they thought I was trying to troll -_-;...)

Garuda EX - every now and then my brain will just skip a whole phase - mainly when on BRD. It's always the phase right after Garuda Jumps and destroys all the rocks. I'll start running straight for the ranged safe zone/A for the Spiny + Sisters phase...... and then get knocked back into the middle when her wind tunnel for Spiny + Plumes phase pops up >_>

My DPS corner of shame is...

- Setting up {Huton}, but using {Mutilate} BEFORE casting the {Ninjutsu}.

- Using {Life Surge} before {Full Thrust} is ready for combo.

- Using {Power Surge} then {Ring of Thorns}.

- Using {Blood for Blood} while mob is casting a big attack.

- Using {Invigorate} after using {Wide Volley} two times.

I won't lie.... once in a blue moon I'll flare with transpose still far into CD and just sit there twiddling my thumbs and pretending to be busy until I have enough mana to cast a Blizz1. Don't ask me how it happens, but once in a while I derp heavily on my rotation and this is the result.

By far, BLM transpose/flare derps are the most painful. You cannot do anything, your MP bar is an empty marker of failure your whole party can see, and it takes forever to fix. God forbid you have no ether and are stuck in Astral. You'd be better off just dying.

As a black mage... I cast Fire 1, get a Fire 3 Proc... swift is up and there are a few adds and I have enough mana to Flare, but not to Fire 1... so, swift+flare, transpose, and then hit Fire 3 proc... lol, have happened to me a few times... like at least 10 secs with 0 mana. Felt pretty retarded.. xD

Oh man.

In T12, I had Brand of Purgatory and was subsequently targeted by Blue Fire (the large circular AoE). I panicked for some odd reason and used my Aetherial Manipulation macro to a healer, who died from my passing of the flame. It was... hilarious.


Edit: A friend of mine (drg) accidentally Tab Targeted Phoenix during the Bennu Add phase, and used Jump. A dead body rained from above lol

Double monk T12. Killed a Bennu, "targeted" the next one, both of us Shoulder Tackled over to Phoenix at the same time.
