If you're not willing to put in the amount of wasted time Square absolutely designed the sightseeing log to be, then maybe you should go do something else. Like grind for your relic. Oh wait.

(Practically everything in this game is a tedious grind. Why are you surprised that side content is even more so? It's literally intended to be done by people who have no lives.)
Wouldn't it be more interesting though if the riddles said stuff subtly like describing 'how beautiful the vista looks at sundown when there's a whistle in the wind'.
Or it's good to rest at X during the rain.

It could be super vague but it'd be nice if that requirement was always somewhat acknowledged.
I don't agree it's wrong to ask for time and weather conditions, but I do think they could've been more creative with the hints.
No acknowledge at all really encourages people to use online guides, so the few who actually want to work with the hints have little to work with.

I don't think it should be done in a day either, but the time and weather are just as important as the location and therefore, you would think that the hint would incorporate that imagery.
Such a great opportunity to wax poetic about the scenery too, which fits perfectly about the nature of sightseeing.
