If it doesn't give any hints, just come back and try again at a different time?
Can we not nerf EXPLORATION, gosh guys.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
I've done that with #36 pretty much every day since Sightseeing was introduced. Not sure what kind of exploration you do, but mine usually involves finding places, not finding places and then having to wait for an entirely meaningless requirement which isn't even hinted at. Bad enough the vista is in a building, thus making the weather/time requirement pretty much an absurdity.
Short of sitting at the same vista and doing the emote every time the weather/hour changes, there is simply no feasible way to do this without a guide. It is simply a poorly designed piece of content.
Given the current "How to" for Sightseeing seems to consist of "Follow this Guide and use the Weather NPC", I'm incline to think most people are enjoying the scenery of the Weather NPC (or worse yet just a web page) more than the actual vista from the Log. It's a case of getting the OK from the Weather NPC then going to the vista to cross off a number for a minion. Rather than picking an entry in the Log during your down time, figuring it out (were it actually possible to), going there and getting the entry.
I'd love to relax and enjoy the Sightseeing Log, but SE instead decided that I should instead be faced with frustration for every entry I figure out, because I get there and am told; "No, you cannot view the Eiffel Tower at this time, nor this weather".
Christ... Just having "You arrive at the vista! You feel X weather/time would improve it...", or "You arrive at the vista! The conditions are perfect!" would be worlds better than the current "Go use a guide if you want to finish this within the century"...
I don't even see what's wrong with being able to clear the Log in a single day... Have you ever actually been sightseeing? You go and see what you can, when you can. Nobody climbs Mt Everest only to go "Shucks, it's Sunny instead of Cloudy, guess I'll come back later". The only weather which has ever really disrupted actual sightseeing is rain, though here that's a requirement half the time - but you better make use it's the right type of rain!

I have the pet Apkallu pet and I have all 112 fish caught in the log.
You know how I did all this? I would DF for the dailies and kept an eye on my in game clock. Whenever the time was about to be right, I simply went to the spot and waited for it to be available. I did other things while I completed the Vistas and the Fishing log, I didn't just sit there all day. And I did this before the Weather NPC was even out!
Some had already made a google sheet, which I only started using after I had found on my own half of the log. And I had fun finding them you know, figuring the hints out and actually finding the spots was exciting for me.
Honestly, I don't even know why you are in a hurry to finish the log in a single day.

The rains have ceased, and we have been graced with another beautiful day. But you are not here to see it..

Let's nerf fishing while we're at it then, make everything that is supposed to be relaxing to enjoy the scenery and done with leisure time done in a single day.
Isn't there also a heading you need to be facing for some of those too?

This content was horribly designed when it could have been so much better. End of story.
In most cases just reaching the required area is fairly difficult, then you had to wait for the correct time and weather to match up adding who knows how long of a completely pointless timesink into the mix when you've already reached the destination.
Or you can try desperately to see when the right weather will occur in that area via weather npcs, and then hope you can get to the spot before the weather and/or time of day ends. Oh joy, that sounds like sooooooo much fun.
I'm am quite jaded, yes. Initially I started doing the sight seeing log when it was first introduced. However the first time I got to a spot and waited hours and hours before finally giving up because the weather/time of day were not matching... yeah, no thanks. That's not fun. F that.
Guild Wars 2 did it with a system that was far more fun and only required you to reach the location, and that location was clearly marked with an icon however reaching the icon was the fun part.
The same could be said with XIV, some of the locations are crazy difficult to reach, but having to add ontop of that requirement that you have to get there at the right time and weather conditions? Ludicrous!
I will never finish this unless they remove the time and weather conditions because it's just not worth wasting my time over. End of story.

^^^
While I disagree with the OP's suggestion of getting rid of the time and/or weather suggestions (although I do agree that some of the hints are bad and do not provide the necessary information), I did love the exploration waypoints and jumping puzzles in GW2, in fact that was some of my favorite content from the game and I would love to see future sightseeing type content that is like that.
Well I'm glad you had fun using Google to finish your Sightseeing Log (meaning a "nerf" wouldn't affect you in the slightest? Got it) I guess.
Figuring out the spots was fun and exiting for me, too. You know, until I got to them and got nothing because it was raining wrong or some other absurd bullsh*t.
I'm not? I said I don't see why it matters if you can clear a piece of content like this in a day. It's side content, not a bleedin' Relic Weapon.
If they completely removed the time and weather requirements I wouldn't finish it the next day. I'd continue to do them at my leisure. Except instead of getting to a vista and getting nothing (except frustration, because apparently it matters if it's foggy outside the Leatherworker's Guild?), I'd actually be getting something out of it.

You sound salty. Maybe you should find some other activity that you enjoy more about this video game, or alternatively find another video game to play with your disposable income, instead of trying to enforce change something that others already like as it is.
Something that others already like as it is and have completed, you mean. How would any change to the existing Sightseeing entries impact you in the slightest? Oh right, they wouldn't.
Funny thing is I'm not even asking for them to remove the damn requirements, I'm just suggesting that if the requirements are, you know, requirements, perhaps they should be indicated in game instead of completely omitted. Kind of amazed that anyone is even arguing against that... Was using Google to find out the right time/weather for all the entries such an integral part of your Sightseeing experience?
Though no, I don't really care that much about Sightseeing at this point, gave up on it ages ago, mostly. Still attempt the occasional one, but that's it... Only so many times you can go to a vista and get nothing for it before the content just kinda becomes dead. Any "salt" is only being brought up because, well here's a fresh thread on the topic.
