Xenogears wasn't part of Final Fantasy and had no bearing on the comment I responded too.

For the people for rebranding: it's completely useless if the company acts the same.

A company with a new logo producing the same old stuff is still going to produce the same old stuff.

They already announced that they were reorganizing all their Production Teams to influence and ensure better quality of the games they release. Thats why they dropped about 10 games from their "In production" lists about 4 months ago.

Anyways this can be a good sign, but it may or may not do anything for end quality depending on what they've done.

They say they lost 55 million on lost investment for the games they dropped do to quality.

The ones I could find were Gunloco, Project Dropship, and a few "Unnamed projects"

I was no fan of XIII but I have to admit that XIII-2 looks to improve upon what I didn't like in XIII.

It looks better than X-2 at any rate.

But on top of the games that they cancelled they also delayed several. (Like Deus Ex... one more week to go!)

Unfortunately, Square will never be Squaresoft again, neither in name nor in what they produce. They've lost too many key people from that era. The question now is can they grow into something similar to what they once were.

Though SE, atleast outwardly, has been showing signs of progress and a desire to want to correct their archaic business practices. Which gives me hope. We'll have to wait and see if they make good on those promises.

If this is true I'm going to miss the current SE logo, I always liked it. I hope they put as much effort into the new one :P
