You forget this is a game made by people in a country where whales are hunted "for science" to get around international whaling laws. But then, even Chinese mmos are courteous enough to not have you eating dog in their games western translations.

I thought it was interesting that they called out the "Far East," where ninjas come from, for overfishing Ash Tuna. Doesn't really seem the Japanese way to point out their fishing practices are really bad.
I'm shocked at the resistance that's offered here; Shark Fin Soup is actually a really shitty thing! It shouldn't be in as a super food, call it like... megalodon soup or something and change the description. They go OUT OF THEIR WAY in that thing to rationalize why you bring up a whole shark and only eat the fin, which is something that doesn't need to be done and also doesn't get justified in game in any other recipes.

That was my thread...thinking of reviving it.

I would love to see this, it would be far more interesting than reading about a a crusade to save pixel fish.

Finning in my opinion is a wasteful shameful practice, this coming from a lifelong hunter/fisherman who has always lived by the motto that I never kill anything I wont eat, or isn't an intolerable nuisance.

However white knighting it in this game forum is ridiculous.
